Smells great, leaks a lot!

I like this massage oil. It smells nice, works well for massages and moisturizing skin, and it's cheap. But after the massive PAIN that this leaky bottle has been, I don't think I'll be buying again. It's really frustrating when you find that the bottle got knocked over at some point and has slowly and sneakily been leaking all over your desk.

Use

Sensuous (by Kingman) is a wondrously affordable massage oil that doubles as a moisturizer. This 4.5 fluid ounce bottle is great for massaging yourself or your partner, releasing tension and relieving aches. When rubbed into skin just after showering, it soaks in wonderfully, leaving the sweet scent of passion flower while gently moisturizing. It can also be used to enhance a relaxing bath by adding a few drops to the water and stirring it in.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is an oil-based fluid, thick enough to have a decently long-lasting glide, but thin enough that it can be runny if you have too much.
I've discovered it absorbs much better when the skin is a bit damp from showering. When rubbed into dry (not fresh out of the shower) skin, this massage oil does leave a bit of a greasy residue that lasts about 15-30 minutes, depending on how much was applied... but it's not so heavy that you feel inclined to shower afterward.

Taste / Aroma

While it does have a pleasant aroma, it's not one of those scents where I feel inclined to create a harness that will hold it directly beneath my nose (yes, I have encountered scents that made me want to do that). I'm not really sure how to describe the actual scent. I guess it has threads of vanilla and almond, as well as notes of ginger and just the barest hint of jasmine.
After use, the scent will linger wonderfully on the skin, though it will become fainter as time passes.
The scent is light enough that it's not overwhelming, and it's not one of those super-girly flower scents that men will want to wash off immediately afterward for fear of being mocked.

Taste? Er... Don't eat it. It's organic, so it's not going to hurt you... But it's not designed with ingestion in mind.

Performance

With this massage oil, it really doesn't take much to get the job done. With a little puddle about the size of a dime (or nickel, for a larger massage recipient), you can easily coat the whole back for a massage.
Now, we will reapply once for a 20 minute massage just to maintain that smooth, easy glide, but it's not absolutely necessary.
It works really well as a moisturizer, especially on (fully healed) tattoos. It conditions the skin deeply enough to give everything a richer tone/color, but not so much that it causes breakouts.
One of the great things about this massage oil is that the excess can rinse away with running water, leaving the skin nicely moisturized, or can be fully washed away with soap and water.
As I said before, if you're using Sensuous as a moisturizer, the best time to apply is it right after getting out of the shower, when your skin is most absorbent.

Packaging

I HATE this bottle. Not the look, but the quality. Seriously, it leaks EVERYWHERE, even when the cap is closed and screwed-on tightly. If it's not upright at all times, it will leak. Some people seem to have had better luck with their bottles, but mine leaks like nobody's business!
The bottle itself is alright. It's really basic, just clear plastic with a whitish/frosted looking pop cap. There is a purple label around the bottle with white and black print.
Overall, it's really discreet looking.

    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Leaky container

Personal comments

It was suggested that I write a bit more about how moisturizing tattoos works, so here it goes!
Moisturizing a tattoo is like moisturizing regular skin. When your skin is dry, it loses luster. When wet, either with water or lotions/oils, it becomes more nourished and takes on a richer, healthier look. With tattoos, the colors become brighter, which makes the tattoo look better. Moisturizing your tattoos can also help the colors of the inks to stay bolder for longer.

Experience

There was one night that I used this as a moisturizer, and my partner asked what I was wearing that had given him a hard-on for half the night. Just thought I'd share that fun little tidbit. Either he gets a lot more excited by nice scents than I thought, or the pheromones in this oil are actually effective.
Follow-up commentary
I'm not really sure what to select as far as how I feel about this product now versus before... I like the massage oil, but the leaky bottle seriously detracts from my overall enjoyment of the product. I'm constantly having to worry about whether the bottle is upright, or if it's at risk of being knocked over.
So... While I (still) like this product, I'm also not all that thrilled with it overall because it's such a hassle.

Well I sure learned a thing or two about skin and tattoo moisturizing---it's a darn shame the bottle is so unacceptable for a massage oil. Hope you can find a better alternative!

This is a fabulous review! This stuff doesn't sound so wonderful. However, I do love the scent of Shunga's Strawberry & Champagne massage oil! The bottle is not much different from this one though. It's similar to this, only larger, but leaks like crazy too! What is up with that?
