Sensuous - oil by Kingman - review by Kitka

Sensually Appealing

Sensuous Massage Oil by Kingman is a pleasantly-scented oil that lasts a long time and soaks in very well to moisturize for hours. If you're looking for a different massage oil that works well and won't offend those of the male persuasion with its scent this oil is for you. It's also very affordable and who doesn't love a good deal?
Lasts for a long time, Spreads evenly, Moisturizes, Pleasant scent, Slick, Price.
Runny, Can be messy, Scent for some, Pheromones are useless.

Sensuous Massage Oil by Kingman is designed to be used as a lubricant and moisturizer for massaging your significant other or yourself if you are so inclined.

Anyone who wants a sensual, slicked up massage would benefit from its use but solo folks could use this as a nice moisturizing oil on extra dry skin after showering or tanning.

This massage oil is gentle on sensitive skin and not tested on animals, which are both very important factors to consider when purchasing something like this.

Ingredients: Sweet Almond Oil, Safflower Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Isopropyl Myristate, Avocado Oil, Myristate Proprionate, Jojoba Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Kukui Nut Oil, Actiphyte of Rose Hip, Ginseng, Hawaiian White Ginger, Juniper Berry Fragrance, Evening Primrose, Jasmine, Sun Flower Petals, Rosemary, Lavender, Fragrance and Pheromones.

Warning: Those with allergies to nuts should probably stay away from this oil since it contains more than one kind of nut oil.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This massage oil is pretty thin and runny but it is still thicker than water and resembles an oil texture. Pouring is easy but can become messy after multiple uses.

Sensuous oil spreads easily across the skin and soaks in very well without becoming sticky or too greasy. Like most oils it will take at least 5-10 minutes for it to completely soak into the skin without leaving behind an oily residue on everything you touch.

This oil moisturizes fairly well for about 5 or 6 hours after rubbing it in or massaging with it depending on your skin type and environmental factors.

Taste / Aroma

It is not suggested to taste this massage oil as it is not intended to be ingested and believe me being able to taste the aroma is very unpleasant (I accidentally got some in my mouth after massaging with it).

The product page says the aroma is passion flower but it smells more like a light nutty lavender. It is not unpleasant or overbearing in any way and only lasts for about an hour or two after soaking into the skin. That could be a downside for some but a blessing to others.
    • Light smell
    • Smelly taste

Taking a fair amount of the oil and rubbing it into your hands moisturizes very well and lasts for a few hours with a light pleasant scent.

Using this as a massage oil is more effective. It coats and slicks the skin very well for about 10-15 minutes of constant massaging before needing to apply more.

Men will most likely not be offended by the scent since it is not too floral or "girly" which means they will be able to appreciate the massaging experience without whining about the smell.

Since this oil soaks into the skin really well there is no need to wash it off at any time.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting

There was very minimal packaging around the bottle when this arrived in the nondescript brown box. It was only wrapped in a plastic bag that was knotted at the top to keep it from leaking if it happened to start.

The oil is packaged in a 4.5 fluid ounce/135 ml plastic bottle with a screw on push button cap. This cap can be opened with one hand and is easy to pour from but will most likely become messy after using more than once.

It has a purple and white label that lists the ingredients and a description of the oil on the back and says "Sensuous Massage Oil", "with Gingseng and Pheromones" and "Passion Flower" on the front.

The packaging is very nice and clearly labels what it is but massage oil is tame in the grand scheme of things and could be left out with no problem.

    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Recyclable

Special Features

This massage oil is glycerin free, L-Arginine free, paraben free and petro-chemicals free making it pretty safe to use and the herbs and Ginseng are added to ease sore, tense and aching muscles.

The packaging claims this oil is all natural and contains pheromones. It may be all natural but I've never noticed anything special about the pheromones to be honest. I think my cats were the only ones to notice anything about it, but not in any highly curious way. They just had a quick sniff and then wanted nothing to do with it. That may well have been just the mix of smells from the other ingredients and not the pheromones but who knows for sure.

Personal comments

I really enjoy the scent of this massage oil and I couldn't be happier with its performance. It doesn't leave much of a greasy or oily residue after it completely soaks into the skin and it lasts for a long time. My husband loved getting a massage with this oil and didn't think the scent was too overbearing or girly which is always good.

I'd recommend this massage oil to everyone who does NOT have nut allergies. That is the only concern here with this oil.

My husband had been having really sore and achy shoulder and neck muscles and I promised him a massage. It so happens that I received this massage oil not long before this started happening with him so I grabbed the bottle one night and had him lay down on our bed (before our massage table arrived).

I opened the bottle and poured about a quarter size into my hand and started massaging with it. I think we were both surprised with how good it felt and how well it worked. I know he had never had a better massage before without this oil.

Clean up was pretty simple with this oil, I just grabbed my white bath towel that happened to be hanging on the back of our bedroom door drying from my previous shower and wiped my hands with it to get the extra oil off. It worked pretty well since the towel was still damp but there was still enough oil on my hands to keep them nice and soft for a few hours afterward.
Follow-up commentary
We are just in love with this massage oil. We use it on occasion when massaging so we still have a fair amount of it. Be warned that the bottle will make a bit of a mess after multiple uses but if you keep a cloth around for wiping it up it shouldn't be a big deal. This massage oil still feels great and moisturizes very well while smelling nice, not overpowering.
