extremely useful review
Now, if you follow me ladies and gentlemen, over here you'll...ahem, Miss? Miss, in the back there...If you could please for a moment keep quiet we can...yes, thank you. We can continue our tour if you follow me over here to this glass case. Underneath you'll see an article of our museum commissioned for the true sex toy connoisseur. It's called the Njoy Fun Wand. Now don't be deceived by the "fun" in the name ladies and gentlemen. This is one very serious piece of sex toy. Now, if I just remove it from the case here...just like...yes, it's quite heavy for its size...here we are. You can see it's a solid piece of 316 stainless steel, polished to a slick mirror finish. And if you look closely here you can see the Njoy logo lightly etched on the surface...

I'm a purist when it comes to sex toys. If it isn't elegant and of high quality, I'm not even interested. When I first saw the Fun Wand, how could I not lust after it? It looked like a relic from an age yet to come. This is the piece in your collection that says you're serious about sex toys, not just some curious person plucking a plastic disposable curio from the shelf of the local novelty store. "Oh. Wow." is a response I've gotten when showing a picture to one of my friends.

The Fun Wand rests softly and securely in its velvet lined box, which may be considered a bit tacky depending on your tastes. The box is a bit too big for easy transporting, so don't expect to toss it in a handbag. When you pick it up, the weight of the 12oz of medical grade stainless is immediately apparent. Hmm, medical. I begin to conjure an image of a gloved and masked scrub nurse slowly lifting it out of an autoclave tray and handing it to a beautiful attending physician. Why won't my student insurance cover those kinds of procedures?

As apparent, the wand has two different ends. One end is a larger 1" diameter bead that then tapers off into the wand. Njoy advertises both the large single ended bead and the 3rd (largest) bead on the triple bead side to be 1" in diameter, but the large single bead side looks and feels very slightly bigger. The triple bead side starts off with a small 0.75" diameter bead, with each bead increasing in size up to the 1" diameter large bead. Njoy touts the single beaded side as being perfect for reaching the g-spot. As I mention below in the experiences, it does reach the g-spot but the feeling for my test subject wasn't as pleasurable as a more traditional insertion pressing on it. I consider this much more of an anal toy, but at that it excels.

Being stainless, the toy obviously doesn't have any give or flex at all, but the ultra-smooth surface and gradual curvatures ensure it remains comfortable. You can use any lubricant you can imagine, but since the surface has a mirrored finish, thinner lubes will simply drip right off or run down the side onto your hand. This means you have to either lubricate yourself first, or use a higher viscosity lube that won't drip off. The lube also very much changes the feel of the wand. Thicker lube gives a much smoother feel, and makes the transitions and shapes of the beads less noticeable. A thin silicone lube makes the feeling of the beads much more pronounced and detailed. I recommend starting with a thicker lube for ease of insertion, and then trying a thinner lube if you want to feel more detail in the beads. A minor annoyance is that when using the triple beaded end anally while on your back, the S-shape and weight of the larger single-bead end makes the toy top-heavy, causing it to start to twist inside you if you let go, which is uncomfortable and somewhat disconcerting.

The stainless Njoy toys may be the easiest to clean of any sex toys on the market. It's just a piece of polished stainless after all. You can clean it off in no time with just soap and water, then wipe it off with a towel (no sticking lint to worry about, unlike with silicone) and toss it back in the box. It can also be boiled, 'dishwashered', or bleached in a mild solution.

The simple design also makes it great for in the shower! I'd imagine enjoying it anally while using a hand-held shower head on your clit would make for a fun time, but since I haven't yet had a partner try that you'll have to be the one to let me know ;-)
Experience
When I first received the wand I tried it alone while masturbating, after quickly warming it up by simply running warm water over it. The first bead slid in effortlessly but noticeably, and the next larger one followed with another gentle push. The pronounced metal shape ensures you feel exactly what's going on down there. As I pushed it in further I felt the 3rd bead pushing up against the entrance, but realizing it wasn't going to go in as easily as the first two, I decided I wouldn't try to over-do it, and just enjoy the feeling of the first two sliding in and out of my ass while I masturbated.

I later tried it out with a partner. I first tried the larger single bead end on her vaginally, and angled it to rub against her g-spot, which I had usually been able to find pretty easily. She said she felt the pressure of it inside her, but pleasure-wise there just wasn't enough texture or size there to do anything for her. She made it quite clear that it wasn't going anywhere near her ass. Mine it was again then. I laid on my back while she went down on me, but she said she didn't have the coordination to use the wand on me while sucking and stroking, so I took over the wand myself. I realized that how well the beaded end works actually depends partly on how your back is curved. While laying perfectly flat the wand feels a bit too curved for my insides. When my back is curled, like when propped up against a pillow, the curved rigid shape of the wand feels like it fits my insides better. Though I have studied anatomy, I don't know enough about internal movements to know whether or not this difference is just in my head. Regardless, while lying with my back propped against a pillow, the wand slid in wonderfully, and the feeling of the smooth metal beads sliding in and out along with the oral sex was euphoric. I began climbing towards orgasm much faster than usually, and was at first worried we'd have to slow down. I then realized that the wand sliding in and out and rubbing my prostate had quickly taken me up to a pleasure point about 20 seconds before cumming, and was indefinitely holding me at that point. This was one of the best experiences I've ever felt, but then became exhausting. Eventually I removed the wand, and let my partner finish me off. I can't actually even remember how the orgasm was, as I was so spent and just needed that final release. I do remember that 3rd bead making its way in though...

Though I originally bought this with the intent that it could be used by both partners, I find myself always being the one stuck with it, literally...

With another later partner: "Hmm, I really want to stick this in you, but it looks serious and I'm afraid I'm going to hurt you. Here, you do it."

With another later partner (hey, I've had this thing awhile now), while she strokes me and looks down with a disappointed face: "What's this crap? I thought you were going to take the bigger end."

Excellent review. I find your con of "lube runs off easily" to be a pro. Steel requires very little lube...especially if you use silicone, which is a plus in my book. Thanks for your thoughts on this exquisite toy!

    • Now, I really want to get into an anal toy but these curved metal beads make me nervous.

Is there a way for me to poke something wrong and injure myself internally with these toys?

Any tips for preventing this from happening?

Any toy can present a problem if used forcefully in the wrong way. Keep in mind that a steel do doesn't bend or flex at all. That's not meant to scare you, but it means that even more care needs to be given when using a steel toy.

Be gentle and listen to your body. Let your body accept the toy if it wants it rather than forcing it. You should approach it with cautious excitement, not paranoia and fear if you want to relax. You can never overdo it with lube when using a new toy. Might seem annoyingly messy, but it's worth it to have an enjoyable experience, instead of a painful one ;)

With the rounded balls and lack of pointy areas this is actually a very comfortable, and highly unlikely to cause harm, toy. However, like others have said, ANY toy can cause harm if you aren't slow and careful especially in the beginning of the play session before you are really warmed up. The anal sphincters really have a mind of their own and some need a whole bunch of persuasion while others are raring to go from the beginning. Learn where you fall in the spectrum, grab some good quality lube and use plenty of it.

I would also suggest playing with the toy orally and vaginally at first so that you can see that it doesn't have sharp edges that could poke and tear sensitive anal tissues. It's completely non-porous so as long as you begin the session with oral/vaginal play and then move to anal there's no chance you'll cross contaminate! If you are REALLY worried you could try slipping a thin but large sized condom over the side you are playing with until you have a bit more confidence with the toy.

  • Njoy Fun Wand vs Pure Wand
    • PersianKitty
This question is for anyone who may happen to already own both. I already have a Pure Wand and *love* it, esp the big end. Is it worthwhile for me to also buy the Fun Wand, or is it just more of the same? I know the beaded side would offer different sensations, but most people who review the Fun Wand seem to favor the other end, and it looks so much like the Pure Wand that I'm not sure if I should get one, or not. Thanks!
    • We have both and almost never use the Fun Wand - especially since we got the Eleven - it's either the Pure Wand or Eleven - never the Fun Wand.

Thanks for the input, Gunsmoke. I think I'll skip the Fun Wand. I have a feeling mine wouldn't be used as much as the Pure Wand, either.

Steel is awesome for experimenting with anal and with the Fun Wand you can ease yourself into it with the little beads...or use the slightly larger end. And the nice thing about stainless steel is that you can sterilize it!

I've used all the Njoy toys...and I LOVE the Fun Wand! I'd even run into a burning building to save mine. :)
