Amethysts are a Girl's Best Friend

This toy is amazing and I can't recommend it enough. If you struggle with G-spot orgasms or are a skeptic like I use to be, I urge you to get a G-spot wand like the Amethyst. You won't regret it. I'm not sure what else I can say that will be more convincing. Unless someone really has an aversion for glass dildos, I can't think of a reason why a G-spot wand wouldn't be a great addition to their toy box. And even then, who knows, maybe the Amethyst could change your mind.

Use

This toy is the best G-spot related toy I have purchased to date. Prior to purchasing this toy I tended to equate G-spot orgasms to unicorns; they sounded amazing, but also highly improbable. That being said, I would say this toy is appropriate for beginners. Since it is glass, you want to make sure not to bruise your cervix, but seeing as it's a G-spot wand, it isn't meant to be inserted to the point of touching the cervix.

I have used this for anal play as well as vaginal play, and have had no issues with it. The way it's shaped, it's not in danger of being "lost." I think it could probably be used for P-spot stimulation, but I am not a man so I can't give more than conjecture at present. If it's used for partner play, there should be a lot of communication and making a slow go of it since glass is far from flexible.

Glass does have many benefits to counteract its inflexibility. It's easy to clean and store. It can be heated or cooled in water for temperature play. Given that it doesn't take batteries and it's water proof, it can be used in the tub or pool; just don't drop it. And honestly, it's a very pretty piece as far as sex toys go.

Material / Texture

The Amethyst is made out of Borosilicate glass. This type of glass is made by adding boron into the glass-making process. There are multiple benefits of this type of glass. It makes it more durable, and if it breaks, it will break into chunks instead of shattering and splintering. It is also more resistant to temperature changes, which has two benefits. The first is, again, it makes it less likely to shatter if there is a temperature change. The second is it holds certain temperatures for a bit longer than average glass, making it a good choice for temperature play. A warm bowl of water, a cold bowl of water, and this wand equals a fun time.

As far as texture goes, the glass itself is baby-smooth, but there are bulges both at the head and a few that make up the handle. It's not bumpy like some other glass toys, so it's nothing that anyone would be irritated by. Keep in mind that as glass, the wand has zero give. If this was hit against a woman's cervix it would be very painful. Thankfully as a G-spot wand, it's unlikely to happen. The G-spot is closer to the middle of the vagina than the back where the cervix is located, so unless you are using this toy as a regular dildo instead of a G-spot wand, your cervix should be nice and safe.

Again since it's glass, you should be careful if you are using this for anal or partner play. I haven't had any issues as far as anal play. The handle has a sort of probe texture and the head is also enjoyable. You aren't really in danger of losing this toy as long as you only insert one of the sides, since there is a difference in width. And there is the benefit of this toy being nonporous, so it is safe to share as long as it's been cleaned properly.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of this toy is pretty much perfect. The angle works well for being able to hit the G-spot without straining. It's also thin, so it won't rub you the wrong way like some thicker G-spot toys can if you are sensitive to that type of thing. I wouldn't say the toy is discreet, but you could probably pack it in your suitcase since you don't have to worry about a mysterious buzzing coming from your luggage.

The Amethyst is a pretty compact toy. It's a little over 7 inches in total with approximately three of that being insertable (when it's being used for its intended purpose). It's only a little over an inch wide, so it is unlikely to hurt anyone from friction, although maybe size queens might find the girth disappointing.

In this picture I have paired it with the Tantus Acute, which is another angled G-spot toy. I honestly prefer the Amethyst for G-spot orgasms. Glass makes it easier to maintain the pressure most women need to achieve a G-spot orgasm. I've yet to find another material that seems to work as well as glass to be honest. And as of yet I haven't found another style of glass toy other than this bent design that works as well. Maybe there are other toys out there that are as amazing as this style of wand, but I haven't experienced them yet.

Performance

I have zero complaints as far as this toy's performance goes. It works exactly as it should and is as uncomplicated as they come (and you WILL come). This is by far one of the favorites of my toy box. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. It is also safe for anal, which is a nice perk. I've had this toy for several months now and it's pretty awesome for lack of a more eloquent term of praise. Occasionally it can make me a little sore, but since it's glass, it's more what position I happen to be in or how roughly I am using it versus it being the toy's fault. Glass does take a bit more finesse than some toys, but for G-spot orgasms I've yet to find another sort of toy that works as well. I imagine metal would work as well but I haven't had the spare cash to test that. So on a small budget, this is pretty much the ideal in my opinion.

Also, seeing as it's not a vibrator, you don't have to worry about battery purchases. You also don't have to worry about someone hearing the wand for that same reason. I tend to like pairing it with a Hitachi Magic Wand, but I don't have to worry about family or noisy roomies. It's not neccesary to pair it with a vibrator, although mixed orgasms can be stronger than one or the other in my experience. There is a different quality to them, so combining them can be amazing.

    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

I don't mean to keep singing the praise of this toy, but there are also positives as far as care goes. Glass is non-porous and compatible with both water-based and silicone lubes. Cleaning the Amethyst is also a snap. You can uses antibacterial soap, toy cleaner, or even pop it in the dishwasher. Glass, like silicone, can be sterilized due to its non-porous nature. Storage is easy, too. As long as it doesn't get dropped on a hard surface or otherwise get severely jostled, there isn't much danger of it breaking. I've dropped it on carpet and it's been fine. It's also been fine when it was shifted around with other Borosilicate glass toys when not so gently moving my toy box. I would recomend using a storage bag or trying to put glass toys in between softer toys to cushion them, but I wouldn't panic if that is not always possible. They are pretty sturdy for glass.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Experience

Honestly I can't praise this toy enough. And if I seem like a fawning fan girl, there's a reason for this. For years I had been a major skeptic as far as witnessing G-spot orgasms in porn or listening to women talk about them. It wasn't until getting this toy that I experienced them firsthand, and then I had to try it again to make sure I could replicate it before giving in to the warm fuzzies for this amazing little piece of glass. I am a reformed skeptic as far as G-spot orgasms go.

I'm glad the review was useful. This is one of those toys that I can honestly say I think should be a staple in a girl's toy bag. It's changed my outlook on things and that's always a good thing I think.
