The Devine Playchest by Devine Toys is a fabulous option for storing your favorite toys! I really love this thing. This toybox combines super cute styling with functionality. !
The outside is shiny, pebbled, faux-leather, mine is pink with black details but it also comes in all black and black with pink detailing. The styling is sort of a retro small luggage look. The metal pieces are silver tone. Faux-leather can be washed with warm water and mild soap. I would use a soft cloth to avoid damaging the material.
Inside the box is all black and feels like a felt type material. The two halves of the dome of the box split in half to open and inside the upper part there are mesh pockets for holding toys. In the body of the box there is a wide open space and a divider that attaches to the sides of the box with Velcro. The divider can be moved to customize the space for your unique needs. There are also elastic loops to help keep toys in place.
The box does come with a lock and key but it’s really more of a novelty. It’s not the sort of lock that’s going to deter someone who really wants to get in so I would not suggest trying to hide anything like valuables in your playchest. However, if you have smallish children or are traveling somewhere with smallish children the lock should be enough to protect your toy stash. The key comes on a silver tone ball chain that can be removed and attached to your regular keychain or wherever you want to hide it.
The box is 15 inches long, 8 inches wide, and 10 inches tall. It’s a great size for holding even your bigger toys like a Hitatchi Magic wand style toy. I use toy pouches (mostly homemade, I’m crafty like that) to protect my toys from each other so incompatible materials don’t touch.
The price is a little high for me, I think, considering the faux materials it could be sold at a lower price point. All in all, I’m very happy with the styling and functionality so I have no regrets!

I absolutely love this thing! I am still often amazed by what I can fit into this box and I can take it with me without anyone suspecting anything. It just looks like cute, retro luggage. I am sad to report however that this item has been discontinued.

I'm really liking the looks of the Devine Toy Chest, but am wondering...does inside the box have a glue or chemical odor? That's one thing I love about my Toibocks products compared to other standard locking boxes I've found - when you open them up, there aren't fumes that knock you down. Are Devine Toys products fume free? Thanks for any info! :-) -
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what material is used in the inside of the chest? Sort of looks like cardboard or maybe plastic to me...
