There have been a lot of people who have done that. I appreciate when they ask at least. I know there have been quite a few times where somebody just read along almost every meeting and didn't think they could join in

Ok...

Aside from directing everyone to the forum improvement threads, my other point to discuss today is Eden Gives Back.

- Should we move Eden Gives Back discussions, back into the regular CEC so that more people are involved?

- How to get more people involved? (Of course no one is obligated, but around the holidays so many people wanted an ongoing campaign. Now that we are trying to do that, a few people have been hardcore supportive, and that is about it).

Your thoughts here?

I have been posting on the new peoples walls when I follow them to check out the calendar and join in, that we'd love to see them around.

I'm not sure what I think about the former, I'll have to give that some thought.

As for the latter, I like the idea of some ongoing projects like the clothing drive and some big events separated by a few months. Having a big event (like TacoODoom's thing) going on all the time would probably drain people.

Yes I can read back, but I have ideas that don't get live feedback since I can't attend the EGB meetings. I think we should keep the folder there for all the projects.

I liked the idea of donating to good causes. It was something everyone could do on their own. All they had to do was take a picture of their stuff. I donated just before I read that post, though.

I think we could do something like the clothing drive year round, since it's not a mandatory thing and people can donate multiple times and it's not coming up with a monetary donation but is still helpful. The big projects I think should be spread out. As for getting more people involved, I'm not sure honestly. I don't have a problem moving it back to the CEC. Or maybe we could have a brief section of the CEC set aside for it and go over stuff that was brought up in past EGB meetings?

I've been putting notes about Taco)Doom's run at the end of my meetings and the workshop posts. I was planning on doing the same with the clothing drive and other events in the future. How much they help? I dunno.

Badges for donating are pretty good for shaming other people into donating themselves. I'm not saying that should be the sole reason for doing it, but it does seem to have that psychological effect on people.

I really don't like the competitive connotation of that. While yes, there are some people who strive to do their best to make their achievements, I'm worried that some people will feel more insecure about getting involved. Reviewing and communities don't come naturally to everyone.

Yes, I agree. Move Eden Gives back to the regulat CEC. Sorry it's taking me a while to refresh. My laptop just started updating the antivirus thingy and it's real slow now.
