You'd probably get a lot more input this way.

I agree on that. I think a lot more people see the polls than the meeting threads.

It might help other people (ones who don't know about or can't make the meetings) feel more like they're included too. Even though the meetings are open to all, I think polls are a good way to get the *actual* whole community involved.

I would suggest the polls be public to avoid people simply voting for points and influencing the outcome adversely.

We're also changing up the Reviewers Spotlight a bit. We love having the opportunity to spotlight a reviewer or two each month, but it seems like we've been having the same problems with meeting attendance that we were having at the Party Planning Meetings.

So we've decided that we're going to try something new for a while. If it goes over well, we'll keep it. If it doesn't, we'll try something new again. Starting in March, the Reviewers Spotlight is going to be a month long affair. The thread will go up in the beginning of the month and you'll have all month long to ask questions of the spotlighted reviewers.

What do you guys think of that?

I have no problem with that either.

Sounds good.

Agree. Or have the first option be "I'm open to any date" so that point farmers will all be collected in the first, non-influential category.

That's a very good solution too!

I think that would be an option anyway, because there are some folks who really don't have a preference on the date.

It will be similar to the interviews. I don't mind it but you also lose the playful interactions that you get with a live session.

Right, I was saying, just make it the first option so the automated point farmers don't get in the way of the poll.

This is true, but at the same time I think it will get a lot more people asking questions which would be pretty sweet as well.

If you want more questions, do the same thing with the interviews. Have the spotlight contributors each pick a favorite question and offer a prize.

That's another great idea actually. This is something we may do in the future.

The last big thing I want to bring up involves this very meeting. As I'm sure you guys have noticed, attendance has tanked recently. We've decided to also move this to being a once monthly thread, where you can add your ideas and suggestions all month long.

We can possibly have a meeting at the end of each one to discuss the ideas and such that have been brought up or suggested, or we can just have it be an ongoing thread that gets changed each month.

What do you guys think of this?

I'd miss the regular meetings but we don't get a lot of people coming to these.

I like the idea of a monthly thread and a meeting at the end. The question is will any more people contribute?

That's something we honestly won't know for sure until we start doing it unfortunately. Hopefully the answer to that is yes.

I hate to go back to it, but you could offer a GC to the best suggestion of the month. That would certainly get people contributing.

Agree that it's worth a shot.

You do see people having "here's an idea Eden should do!" threads from time to time, so maybe having a current and often-bumped thread would give them a central repository.

That's another possibility. I'd like to avoid having to do that if at all possible because I feel like it just ends up with a bunch of people potentially making stupid suggestions just for the possibility of getting a gift card.

I definitely agree with that.

Where do you think that thread should get stickied? In the upcoming events? Featured? Announcements?

I think Featured too.

Ok then, that one will go in the featured section.

Now that it's about time to wrap up the meeting, is there anything else anybody may have to bring up?

I was wondering if we had any more clubs that were gonna close.. Just as a heads up.

I think another good thing to direct focus at would be to streamline the "categories" section. I think my biggest thought there is to stop having a separate forum category for each and every personal store... having too many categories that are empty makes the section super long when expanded to keep it open all the time.
