Make your introduction here! Make sure to include what types of arts and crafts you do, how long you've been doing these sort of things, your skill level, etc! This will be a great way for everyone to see what others are up to out there!

I've been doing creative things for as long as I remember. On my 5th birthday, I remember getting a backpack full of art and craft supplies and being super excited about it. I'm a really artistic person overall.

I'm mainly a crafter. I love knitting and crocheting. I taught myself how to knit 6 years ago and I've come really far. I make awesome slouchy hats, fingerless gloves, scarves and such mostly. I taught myself how to crochet about 2 years ago. I'm addicted to yarn... I've taken up sewing. Again, it's something I taught myself. I haven't gone too far with that yet, but I've been picking it up pretty quickly. I love making tutus and costumes.

I do more conventional forms of art. Decoupage is a lot of fun. I'm primarily an acrylic painter. I draw, but I really don't like it too much. I love collage and mixed-media things. I also make cute cupcakes and cookies.

Like Miss D I have been doing creative ventures my entire life. I went to school for special effects make up, so I do a lot of sculpting, and prop building. I consider myself a painter above all things, I use acrylic. I only learned to paint formally a few months ago, no one tends to believe me but I had an awesome teacher for 4 of those months.

I also like knitting, Im currently knitting a tom baker doctor who scarf, it's 12 feet long momentarily and Im only have done. I sew, take pictures, draw, write scifi, etc etc. Anything to do with my hands calms me down.

I've been doing creative crafty stuff on and off most of my life. My mom taught me to sew when I was younger and my dad taught me how to cross stitch, which I do still enjoy doing even if I never have the time for it. Photography was another thing that I picked up from my mom, although she didn't do much of it that I could remember. It was mostly after I started getting into it that I saw most of the stuff she had done and it's hilarious to compare our work because we apparently have the same photographical interests.

When I had more free time I was making bags and selling them on Etsy but when I started working days delivery driving a few years ago I stopped having enough time and energy to devote enough time to making and promoting my bags and such. I have a lot of great ideas and a lot of fabric, but I don't have the time with two jobs right now.

I also used to be pretty decent at painting. Not great by any means, but I enjoyed messing around with oil paints when I was younger and I had a few pretty good paintings (for my age I thought) come out of it. For my sister's birthday a few years ago I traced and painted a stylized "L" that I had drawn when I was a freshman in high school (her first name starts with an L) and gave it to her. She freaking loved it.

Thinking about it now, I've dabbled a little bit into almost every media of art and there are things that I definitely like about each of them. Making collages is a lot of fun, but I don't really have anywhere to put them. Same with 3D models, etc. Fortunately, painting my fingernails offers a bunch of possibilities for creative release, even if it's something as simple as alternating colors or using a Crackle paint lol.

I have over 70 bottles of China Glaze polish. I've even gotten into doing acrylic nails because of the world of possibilities!

Knitting! Yay!

That's a monster scarf! I'm so impatient with mine that they usually end up too short.

You have my nail polish collection hardcore beat! I've mostly been stocking up on the Sinful Colors line that I can find at Walgreens. The colors are awesome, they last a decently long time, and the bottles are a whopping 2 bucks apiece.

Ugh the china glaze polishes are so pretty. I have a bunch of essie polishes. I really want to try butter, they look so nice. I suck at doing my own nails on my right hand, my left hand always looks awesome. hahaha.

Every time I wear China Glaze's For Audrey, which is a light, Tiffany blue, I get tons of compliments.

Perhaps we should start a nail polish addiction club. Haha!

Hi, I knit and crochet, love to cook and have dabbled in photography. Have several current projects at once and a huge stash of yarn. I love the textures and colors. My current crochet trend is making purses and I'm working on a full size afghan. Also, I make lots of knitted then felted bags. Love researching recipes and then making them my own. Someday, I'll write a cookbook.

You sound so much like me! I love cooking! A lot of people don't realize the amount of creativity it involves!

Taught myself to knit when I was 14, then taught my best friend. A few years later she learned to crochet and taught me! I'm addicted to yarn. I'm also way too excited because a few years ago all the Wal-Marts in our area did away with fabric, but now it's coming back!! I also like to sew but don't do it so much, partly because I've moved around so much in the last couple of years that I usually don't have a place to set up my machine and it pretty much stays in the box waiting for the next move!

I grew up with crafts such as knitting, crocheting (made my first poncho in school colors in 5th grade), sewing (was teaching by the time I was in high school), and now I am mostly a paper crafter. I have an entire room devoted to paper crafting (love Tim Holtz stuff!). I'm a busy mom so don't get to do as much as I'd like.

I just gave away two years worth of cooking magazines that were clogging my china hutch. I love the creativity with cooking...

It's so much fun! I love baking and making things look super cute. I made a pie and used a flat crust on top, but cut little hearts in it as vents with my small cookie cutter. It's was so nice looking!

You can also make strawberries into little hearts! Cut one in half, and then put a notch in the top of it. Easy and super cute!

Hi. I have to say that my main crafts are candle-making, lotion/bath products, chain-mail and wire jewelery. I am also into upcycling. I wish I could sew. Most of the time my creative juices ebb and flow because I kind of need to have a practical reason to make something such as gifts or when my 3 peach trees decide to give me 20+ pounds of peaches . I am always in search for inspiration however and can't wait to see what comes from this group!

I mostly do embroidery. All kinds. I learned needlepoint when I was about 5, cross stitch when I was 7 or 8. Didn't do much between about 14 and 20, but after college I got back into cross stitch. Then I discovered crewel and was instantly addicted. More recently I've done some appliqué, weaving, punch needle embroidery, and needle felting, too.

My rule is that I'm not allowed to watch TV without working on something. So I get a lot done. Each year I finish at least 6-7 big (11"x14" or bigger) crewel kits, another 7-8 smaller ones, and a few dozen Christmas ornaments—mostly cross stitch but sometimes crewel. (Everyone who comes to Christmas Eve at my house takes one home.) Plus a few small weaving projects (5"x7" or so), the occasional small needlepoint, some baby blankets (felt appliqué), small needle felted objects, punch needle, and other random things.

I'm currently working on a big cross stitch kit (only 14"x9", but it's 18 count) that I started in college, then put away without getting much done. A few years ago I pulled it out and got more than half done, and put it away again. A few weeks ago I pulled it out one more time, determined to finish it. It looks like I will, this time. I got another 30% of it done, so I only have about 20% left, which I should finish in the next couple of weeks. I haven't done any cross stitch (aside from little Christmas ornaments and such) for a long time, so it's nice to be working on a big cross stitch project again. But after I finish it, I think that'll be enough counted cross stitch for the year.

Cross stitch is one of the last things I need to cross off my list! It would be great if you could post some tutorials for us!

I try to do a little bit of everything, and I've loved arts & crafts as long as I can remember. Some of my main things are mixed-media, collages, jewelry making, sculpture, a bit of sketching and ceramics, and other sorts of projects I've done...
I've tried all sorts of other crafty things (stained glass, candle making, others that slip my mind at the moment). I do not sew, knit, or crochet but I REALLY want to learn! I have a mini sewing machine right now that I've never actually used, and I would love it if someday I could make all of my own clothing.

I do all kinds of arts and crafts! It's pretty much what I'm going to school for (I'm an illustration major). One thing I really enjoy is making things that are eco friendly or recycled into new things that people can enjoy. I make earrings out of pop cans and I've also done some really cool things with taking old t-shirts and re-covering chair seats with them. It's something I've always loved doing and something I think I will always enjoy! <3

I don't do a lot of arts and crafts, but I do sometimes like DIY projects. I barely have any skill in arts and crafts.
My most recent art project, perhaps the first one in years, was a batman poster. I searched for 9 comics with cool covers (by 3 artists), removed the covers, glued them to a large sheet of paper (from a roll of carpenter's paper). Afterwards I had to pay for lamination and custom framing.
So that should give an idea of what I am capable of doing on my own. It's not much, but hopefully I'll find some kind of craft that suits me and go wild.

I am a major crafts dork. I love to make cutsie, girly, lolita type jewelry with polymer clay, beads, charms, and small toys--or anything else that I can re-purpose. I like to make my own charms (usually food shaped) out of clay and paint them. I also like making big gaudy 80's style things with those perler beads that you iron and fuse together. I have ventured into sewing a bit and made some neck pillows and hairbows but thats about it. I'm so glad to see an arts and crafts group here, I'm excited to be here!

I cook, bake, love making candies, cross stitch, embroider, applique and fabric painting, and make simple soaps and candles. I also am a graphics designer and love to write. Wow, I can't think of anything else right now but I know I am leaving stuff out.

I'm a creative person but was not given scenarios to be taught any form of art due to a nice long story. I am self taught in everything. I have a high preference for drawing, writing, and cooking. I go everywhere with a writing/drawing implement and as piece of paper, I'd bring a kitchen with me too, but it be sort of difficult to lug around. Since the age of 12(Twenty now) I've filled out 200+ sketch books of 70-100 pages and covered miscellaneous paper galore in drawings.

I'm also what I like to call a 'World Builder' I've been working on one particular project for 4 years now. I go into everything, absolutely everything with them. Races, cultures, religions, proper biomes, sentient and non sentient creatures, history, genetic composition I would type more but I think you pretty much can grasp the intensity. I would say my 4 year project is 1/4 of the way done, though now that I think of it, that is pretty generous of a percent.

So, yup.

Hi! I'm MeliPixie, but please call me Pixie ^_^ I do a lot of arts and crafts, including sewing (both by hand and with a machine), crocheting, beads and jewelry, paper crafts, and I'm open to a lot more! Plus I'm a chef/baker/pastry chef, but that's not really artsy-craftsy, is it. So hi everyone!
