I know some pastas are meant to go with certain sauces so the sauce clings to the pasta.

Beside that, when you go to the store to get pasta, is there one particular shape you like more than the others?

I for one love rotini and tortellini! How about you?

So many options! I make my ravioli myself when I can, and I've made tortellini in the past, but I also buy them fresh whenever I can afford it. I've loved bowties and big shells since I was small, they're my top options for unstuffed pasta.

My absolute favorite is Angel Hair, so there's always a box of that in the house. But really all pasta is great! Like you said, sometimes it depends on the sauce And how I feel that night too.

Ditto - Angel Hair's the best. The shapes like bow-ties I like for fun meals.

Fusilli is probably what I eat most, but I like pasta salad with penne or orecchiette or occasionally farfalle (bowties). There is only one thing I use long pasta noodles for.

It depends on the dish, really. Some dishes require substantial, long noodles. Some thin noodles, some short shapes. I buy according to what I'm making for dinner. We usually keep spaghetti in the house, since we eat that at least once every other week.

I also go whole wheat as often as possible.

I'm not a fan of elbow macaroni or regular spaghetti pasta. I don't know why, but they just feel "old hat" to me.

I usually just get whatever is on sale. I don't really care about which shapes go best with which things. Just throw it all in a pot and hope it turns out. lol

Penne rocks my face. I love it. I use it for chicken carbanara, ziti, sausage and peppers, and cream sauce dishes.

Angel hair is really nice, but I have to be very careful with the sauce consistency, or it becomes a hot mess. It's not exactly a mac and cheese type of pasta. I actually like tossing it with cherry tomatoes, basil, fresh mozzarella, a drizzle of olive oil and a dash of balsamic. Caprese pasta! Yum.

Doesn't make much of a difference but I eat spaghetti the most
