A jackwagon is basically a jerk.

Yes what does jackwagon mean? I wasn't going to ask, but since it is now out there...

Wasn't there a sexis article on that just a while back?

The asshole in the group who's there to either make fun or make stupid commentary and isn't actually interested in learning or observing.

Most likely there was, but it doesn't hurt to discuss it here for those who may miss the articles on SexIs.

Oh of course! I understand that.

There is an "official/traditional" way to do most things. For example... rules to a sports game. Does everyone follow them? Of course not. People who consider themselves corset fanatics have rules about what "counts" as a real corset (this varies too). I just wondered if there were guidelines as to what constitutes BDSM as an actual lifestyle? Or are there really none?

Maybe I have just met some really strict BDSM folk lol. They seemed to be very set in rules and proper ways to be a dom and sub etc. It's good to know that at least the people of Eden are not as close minded!

My son (he's 16) sleeps with his iPod on. Sometimes we turn the TV on too. Other times we wait to get rough until he is out of the house for a few hours so there is nothing to worry about.

Types of play.
Community vs single relationships.
Sex - involved, uninvolved, whatever works for you?

Lol, good call. We haven't had a need for one yet, but I don't think our brand new paddle is going to see much use with her home, lol

Here's a random thought, for those who might have issues with privacy or living with other people and sounds that paddles and such can make, maybe some discussion on "being kinky when you have to be quiet"? Or something along those lines?
Yes please.

That's good to know. This is what I was looking for I guess. I'm mildly into it but never felt in place with others I knew who were. Again, I think I may just have known some close minded people.

Well, Gimla and I have very strict rules and the proper way to run our relationship and our form of BDSM, but the way that we live might not apply to you or even interest you. I'll definitely give insight into our relationship, but I can't say that it's the "legit" way to do it.

Does that make sense or answer what you're talking about?

As far as roles are concerned, I just recently did some soul searching and found that I am Synthetik's Slave

This is what convinced me of such, it's a bit of an article that I found on Submissive guide (I think written by Rayne)

"So what’s a sub? That’s where it gets tricky. Because the line between sub and slave is rather fine and blurs a lot. People often use “submissive” and “slave” interchangeably. But they are not the same thing.

A sub is someone who still retains some control, but is in service to someone else. They have the right to say no and walk away at any time. They have a safe word. They have limits. They’re not owned.

An article I read recently described it best when it said “A submissive is a volunteer. A slave is not.

A slave is owned. That’s probably the only constant. Some slaves have safe words. Some do not. Some slaves have negotiated limits. Some do not. Some slaves have submissive personalities. Some are only submissive with the one who owns them. Some slaves have given up their right to leave, or consented to having it taken from them. Some retain the right to walk out the door whenever they choose.

Legally, we all have that right. Some of us just choose not to acknowledge it."

Hey guys, sorry I'm super late. I had an engagement with my grandma. I'm not a kinkster, but I'm curious about the lifestyle so I figured I'd pop in and take a peek.

Sam (aka Jul!a): do you like taking orders? If so, would it work if your partner ordered you to keep quite (perhaps on threat of either punishment or stopping if you can't)?

Pff, you make a lot of noise with tape over your mouth. Not that I would know or anything.

Actually, I'd like to amend this.

The only stupid questions are the ones left unasked and unexplored (and even those aren't really stupid )
