We use them, but aside from a safety word I don't

STEP THREE: After you have crafted your falls (this is going to take more than five minutes to do the first time you make a flogger and will take a while depending on how many falls you desire for your flogger), cut a long piece of duct tape to be used as the bonding agent to the flogger handle. Do NOT measure this piece out to the length of the falls because you may not have enough room for all the falls if the piece of tape is too short. If the piece of tape is too short, just pull and cut another piece and add it to the one already cut. It won't make a difference as this tape is just going to hold the falls to the dowel rod.

Hey Y'all, I seen Duct tape and had to come check it out. Just today I seen some pink, green, yellow and blue colored tape at the local Home Depot.

I do all my calculus in bed too. Probably less colorful than what you were working on, Sam, but cozy anyway.

I love that you are using different colors. I am going to have to see what colors I can find for the next one!

I'd do just about everything from bed if I could, lol

STEP THREE CON'T: Place the falls as evenly spaced out as possible along the strip of duct tape and make sure to not place them all the way at the top of the tape. If you put them too far up, the tape won't stick to the rod when you go to wrap your flogger.

We do not use them, but I have always enjoyed making them. From key chains to full on whips, I love to make stuff with my hands. Having good sewing machine that goes through leather like butter helps too.

Biggest safety tip I was taught by the Domina who trained me was stay away from the lower back and area around the kidneys as it is REALLY easy to damage with just a light blow... and always test out any new whips/floggers/crops on your inner arm at full strength before trying on a sub/partner... yay for playing safe!

We've been curious about them, and so far only have a small one that we use for tickling and the occasional sting.

STEP FOUR: Go ahead and grab the dowel rod you intend to use for the handle of the flogger. Make sure to sand down both ends before proceeding as the uneven pieces of wood could cause your flogger to not roll properly or stick to the duct tape. Make sure both ends are smooth before continuing on. Place the dowel rod at one end of the duct tape that is facing sticky side up with the falls attached to it. Once placed, begin to slowly roll the rod, with the tape, until you reach the opposite end. This is going to create and bind the falls portion of the flogger.

Yes! That is where I was going to get to with my question Along with avoiding the kidneys, you want to avoid the neck and the face as well as those areas can also be severely damaged if a flogger is thrown too hard or incorrectly.

STEP FIVE: After you have bound the falls to the dowel rod, take the roll of duct tape you used to make the falls (or a different color if you choose) and wrap the tape around the rod. Do not cut the tape while wrapping. You can make the handle as thick as you want by wrapping the tape around more than once. For this flogger, I wrapped the tape around the handle once. Once you have wrapped the handle to your liking, DO NOT CUT the tape from the roll just yet. You're going to want to keep it attached until you're finished with step six.

I've used them in the past but not recently. Same goes w/ safety measures - I was very familiar, but not so much as it's been awhile. It's been awhile since I've done ANYTHING, but all that will change in 9 days. \o/

Floggers are definitely fun to use, but they're not as easy to handle as you may think. If you're a beginner with floggers, even these duct tape floggers, practice on an inanimate object to get a feel for the flogger you're intending to use. Try practicing aiming the flogger at one spot on the wall or the bed, where I learned how to throw one, before practicing on a person. By practicing on a wall or bed this will help with accuracy and not cause damage to any living person or thing if you throw the flogger wrong or too hard to start.

OMG! Sam, I'm considering going back to school at the Boston Architectural Institute in their Interior Design program, or getting a Residential Interiors certificate from their Continuing/Professiona l Ed Dept. Can I pick your brain sometime?

STEP SIX: Measure out another piece of duct tape to the length you made the falls and fold as you did the falls. Take the folded strip of duct tape and wrap it around the top of the handle. After you have wrapped the piece of duct tape around the top of the handle, tape it down with a bit of the tape that is still attached to the roll that you used to wrap the handle. This serves as a decoration piece, but also to keep the flogger from flying out of your hand when in use.

I like feather pillows for practicing new toys on... they REALLY show big indentions if you're throwing too hard...
