It's really dependent. If you want to see how well you're doing, find similar blogs with similar ages and use link . Compete lets you compare your stats with other blogs.

For a two-month old blog, though, I'd probably expect your PageRank to be a 0.

Well, besides the technical ways, I want to mention that you can always make a word doc & copy & paste the html or just the text even to it after you finish a post, if nothing else or for an added measure of security. Or an office.org doc. Or wordpad. Whatever your pleasure. Sometimes, I like the old-fashioned ways of doing things as well as new technologies.

That would work, but I think Kinky World has about 800 posts now. Copy-pasting 800 word documents would suck.

For smaller blogs, though, too, that would definitely work. I'm glad blogs have made it easier back things up though.

It may have to do with whether or not another reader who stumbles upon it flags it or not. I don't know, but that's often the case. They can't police every individual blog.

Did you find Chrome difficult to use?

Yeah, it has a lot to do with that. Most of the time, they have too many to police, so unless someone reports it, they probably won't notice.

That's exactly it. I got flagged as "A Marketing Blog." Unless you're flagged they wont see it usually unless they are actively looking.

No, not at all. I absolutely love it, and runs so much faster than my FireFox. I'm in love with it.

AND I'm wearing a dress! Just for the hell of it. Still debating the heel vs. flats question though.

I don't think being drunk in heels is a good idea, but maybe you'd rather do that.

Since most of you use Blogger for your blogs (as it's free and adult-friendly), we'll start with that method. Forgive me if there is a better method, but I've honestly never used Blogger/Blogspot, and this is the method that most people have recommended to me. In your top bar, there's a “Settings” tab. Go to that tab, and under the “Basic” tab, you can see the “Export Blog” function near the top of the blog. It will then make it easy to download your BlogSpot blog into one easy-to-use file. Easy as pie!

Have you ever backed up your blog before? If not, what's stopping you from doing it?!

Ha! That would not surprise me one bit. It's got almost 1300 hits so I'm happy enough.

I do it regularly with both. Since I use wordpress & blogger it's simple as pie. I backup my templates too.

I just started backing mine up this past week (I've got the wordpress plugin that emails me the file every week) because I realized how devastated I would be if I lost everything.

When I first started it was just a place to play around so I never thought about doing it. Almost 2 years in, 300+ posts later I almost lost it and it made me realize I definitely need to start backing it up.

I know; I would be too. I need to do research and see if it backs up all of the picture files. I don't think it does.

I haven't because I've never really had a blog that I cared about for more than personal journaling and venting to myself. I've never used blogger before but I already have my tumblr one set up.

Losing it would definitely be an awakening. I'm glad you're backing up your posts now though! Better safe than sorry!

Hmm. I'm not sure how to back-up a Tumblr. I've never seen a feature on my Tumblr that would do that.

Yeah, I read somewhere about a plugin that does and should be used in conjunction, but when I downloaded it the plugin wasn't working so I figured I wouldn't worry about it. I've got all the pictures on my hard drive somewhere at least.
