I was sad to see you weren't there for that one, although I do understand why you had to miss it.

I'm down for collaborating.

I was thinking if I was to do a themed Cooks for February, it would be like a little fruits and honey tasting menu instead of a big produced meal, because I subscribe to the Dan Savage theory that you shouldn't stuff yourself or you'll be too sleepy for sex

whenever is fine! april for a spring party, feb for a Vday party... sure.
No worries, I understand. The wife and I have not had a real V-day for years. We just get the kids stuff since we have only had limited funds.

not sure what's been said, internet fail, so here's my two sense regarding valentines day (sorry if it's early)

For the valentines party, how about giving mainly couple themed toys and having the party about one week before the actual holiday to allow for shipping.
For prizes, it depends on the price range, but the inflatable lover’s pillow

There should also be a singles party after, or perhaps for irony, on valentine’s day. Prizes should be mainly ones used for solo pleasure. How about a choice of a vibrator or sleeve, so whichever gender wins, they can choose.

I think I learned about it ... shoot, I don't even remember. I have kind of a hobby of reading antique cookbooks, though, so probably the Kentucky Housewife or something

Antipova, if you'd like to Skype or email me, we can discuss doing future collaborations. I would love to have every club do something that's part party at least once since it went over so well for you, and any time you'd like to do a "themed" meeting where I join in with some trivia, I'm down.

Huh, I never got stuff from my folks for Valentine's day... and I guess I carry that over by not letting boyfriends get me anything either. I'm never one to complain about time spent together and sex, but I hope for that all year'round, not just on holidays!

Nope, I head the Community Planning Meetings. JR has a wonderful workshop on the Review Program on the 4th Wednesday of each month.

What about one single party that everybody gets to go to and there are prizes from both pools available; something for couples and something for singles?

if we do a Vday party, i recommend some of the lover kits... like the shunga passion kits that were given out for the Gingybread contest. and/or self-care things... like bath/body products. really ANYTHING on eden qualifies as a good Vday gift, as they're all romantic and sensual!

Too bad we couldn't somehow pair up as dates for the party, then everyone would have a valentine at the party.

I would indeed, but I have my night job that evening, so I'd be available to spend it with you guys. He and I are going to take a weekend away, either the weekend before or the weekend after.

Having more than one party would be a lot of work, and having 'couples' toys only at one would be kind of excluding single people from being able to use some of them. People in relationships could use things from either. Also, having anything on V-day seems problematic for a turn-out. Single people often go out with friends or family, or have dates with new people.
