My public school after that year never said anything to me. I wore mini micro tiny skirts and never even got yelled at. Granted I had fishnets or tights on but never once got yelled at. But a few other girls who werent "punk" got yelled at for skirts that were longer than the ones I wore. So I dunno...haha

The trenchcoat and collar would have gotten you in trouble in my high school.

Sounds crazy but we delivered newspapers in Alaska during two winters and -30 didn't feel that much worse than ... more
I have a friend who would agree. He'd wear shorts during our winter here in the south. He said after being in Alaska our winter was almost summer to him.

I hear my high school got a lot more strict. I used to get in trouble for wearing spaghetti straps and having my midriff showing. Now they have to wear ID tags and are super worried about security and all of that. ... more
Yah, that's how my HS is now. So glad I've been out for...years now. Hah!

Yeah that wouldn't be shrinkage, that would be limbs falling off.

Yeah, my 21st birthday it was something like -15 or -20 before the wind chill, and it was a super windy night. I wonder why people bailed and didn't come to my party...

There were a bunch of really skanky-dressed girls at my school and they never got any trouble, even though I was following the dress code and they weren't.

Funny - I still feel alive?

You mean I died before 2000 and I've just been doing what since then? Being a zombie?

Ooops - wrong word!

Wow.

After a couple years in high school, nobody even asked me to take off my hat. (I didn't do noncomformist hairstyles because I like to blend in occasionally, but I did like wearing a fedora.)

I believe that was called "being in the wrong social group." Happened to friends of mine too.

Nobody ever could explain to me why the school board set one length of skirt as "appropriate" and then picked something shorter for the cheerleaders...

I wish I had more, I only have one wrinkled hat thanks to the washing machine/dryer combo and my laziness.

Thank goodness it never gets that cold where I live. I can handle all the snow you want to give me but when it drops down into the negatives I tend to just want to stay inside.

Did you know that it can snow from clear skies? Ice crystals sometimes fall from clear skies when temperatures are in the single digits or colder.

I grew up in Nebraska, and there was one year where it snowed two feet at christmas. We couldn't go anywhere. Then the snow never melted, it just kept snowing and snowing on top of it, so we still had a good six inches of snow on the ground through may.
