I don't know what sort of question that was. Some do, some do not. It's a choice. I view submission as a very strong thing, it's strong to be willing to give over that power to someone. But some do not view things as I do. The book that I was talking about was interesting, because it showed how the dominant ones needed their submissives just as much as their submissives needed them. I like how it parallels actual D/s.

Wow, again, fascinating. It actually gave me an uber-girly idea. Anyone ever thought of (or actually done this) making a mood board to guide a story that's a work-in-process or just being formulated?

I think in that type of scenario it's more of a mental domination that creates the ability to dominate physically.

Well said, not that I know much of the D/s relationship in real life, but I can understand that.

Oh, indeed. And quite skillfully and slyly and subtly at that, which I find all the more erotic.

Sometimes people will submit for the sake of the intensity of the physical stimulation, and sometimes for the psychological and emotional stimulation. Or both. I'm not sure there's much difference between genders in that respect.

Well, I suppose that you could take me for an example. I've not ever had a submissive who was smaller than me. I'm extremely short and thin, so most feel that I appear "weak" or something. I'm not though, because I both have a strong mind and am strong physically. So it works out nicely. Then again, I'm a male Dominant, so it's a bit different.

I find larger male submission to smaller female domination to be very alluring and sexy, actually. When the male is undeniably male, and the female has such a prowess. Very, very sexy.

The Pro Domme I visited was super petite and even I (who am generally not attracted to females) could totally see the allure.

I think what intrigues me most about D/s is the level of trust needed to make it really work whether you are male or female.

Ooh, I totally agree with this. It makes it feel like the woman is more powerful psychologically. I feel like there are so many different ways that people can be dominant and submissive; it's all very interesting to read about!

I've noticed that with any of the books we've discussed here, folks have really perked up when anything really kinky comes along. Does anyone remember book or stories we've discussed before that are particularly memorable? I know some from Take Me There made a real impact.

You know, I find that a smaller male dom might be a solution to help females drop their shields in a way in case they had been abused in the past. While you are still strong, you do not give off that air that "you're stronger just because you're bigger in a bully sort of way". Does that make sense? I suppose that it could help focus on what's going on than what's you look like.

Yeah, it's actually funny how I, a Sir, feel that way. I'm not sure why I do, quite honestly. I've never felt the need to submit or serve, but I still have such a pull to that sort of dynamic.

Eukcsh. That was weird grammar. I don't know if it was even right or wrong, but I wish I had phrased it differently to avoid saying "who am generally" ... ew.

Kake, what's a mood board? I can guess a bit, but i haven't come across that term before.

There was the one Werewolf one at the beginning of Red Velvet and Absinthe that I still think was awesome. About the werewolf who was 'tamed' by the scientist?

One of the stories I recommend to others most often is ... well, dang, I forgot its title, but it was in G is for Games, the spanking story in which the spankee who had run off a year prior met up with the spanker again at the same conference and they were able to work through so much...

I loved that story.

I agree. I guess my point was that, for me at least, that aspect is always there - the submissive, be they male or female, always holds a degree of power of the dominant. They're symbiotic in a way - one cannot be fully realized without the presence of the other. Therefore, your comment about "male" submissives being powerful made me laugh because in my mind, all submissives are powerful. And, being a bit of an outspoken, opinionated, at times reactionary feminist, I perhaps ribbed you a bit harshly because of, what seemed to me, this awe-struck bit of realization that the male sub has power - it made me want to ask, as I did, though not so kindly, I suppose, well don't female subs also have power because it's the nature of the submission to be powerful, just perhaps not in the same open and noticeable way as Dom/mes have? I think that's why i like the concept of power "exchange" so much - because both the sub and the Dom/me give or take some power from and to the other.

Perhaps. A smaller person can still be an asswipe, though, so it really depends on the person. I do understand where you're coming from, though, and I think it's possible that for some partners, this could work.

I guess also, I'm healthy-weight-but-Sla vic-built, and I often wind up attracted to lithe and wiry dominant partners... I guess that dynamic just makes intuitive sense to me.
