OK, so this pouch is crocheted in the round. To start, you’ll chain 3 stitches and join them together to make a ring. Then you will single crochet into the ring six (6) times then slip stitch to join and finish the ... more
Wow, that's a little blurrier than I thought it was!

I'm not a vet or anything but I find crochet to be a more easy then knitting. I am still fighting with my new sewing machine, I was hoping to make some pretty bags for toys.

The Fetish Fantasys Series swing is amazing. It's so lightweight and so easy to store and nothing about it is a big "production" or anything like that.

Worsted weight yarn?

This is pretty awesome! I can knit and crochet. I have a friend who always makes knitted or crocheted pouches for glass toys because they're a bit thicker and squishier than the pouch that the toy comes with.

Holy cow, I actually understood that and I am just learning how to do this

I started making sewn bags with felt. Super easy and very thick.

Yes, I'm using a worsted weight cotton yarn. I think, specifically Peaches and Cream. (I usually buy my cotton from Hobby Lobby, theirs is a little more expensive but SOOO soft)

Any questions so far? Again, this will be here for EVER and EVER and EVER so you can always learn more and come back to look it over. I can also send you a file with the pattern if you inbox me your email address.

Alright! Since no one has any questions, I'll move on to step two!

STEP 2

Then, to start the next ring and increase the size of the base, you will chain one, this is your first stitch. Then single crochet (sc) into the same stitch where you began your chain. Then, you will crochet two (2) sc into each stitch all the way around. Slip stitch to join.

When this step is complete, it will look like this:

lol I tried crocheting before. As long as the steps were in front of me I could do it, but I forgot like 10min after putting it all away lol.

I love how you're using a pink crochet hook with your pink yarn.

I learned mostly on YouTube and practiced lots and lots. It's taken me about 3 years to get to where I am today with it. Like any art: PRACTICE!

When I made a hat this was the hardest part for me the little inner circle. Then it got super easy the rest of the way

You should make several bags in a row. Then you won't forget.

Not planned. I was trying to use a color that was light and that I hadn't already made a bag out of, so pink. (my hook here is actually a 7, not an 8, but it's not much difference with the worsted weight. It actually would have worked better with an 8, which is why I recommended it.)

But these are my favorite hooks, they have a bamboo handle which makes holding them easy on my arthritic wrists!

I'm gonna have to sit down with youtube and try to learn. I wish I was better at it.

I also have a book called The Crochet Bible by Sue Whiting that I picked up at a Half-Priced Books store. It has a lot of different stitches and instructions. I use it a lot!

I'll have to look into that too.

Okay then!

STEP 3

We're still increasing here, but not as much as the last round.

The third round: You’re going to chain one and this will, again, be your first stitch. You’re going to then do a sc into the same stitch as your chain one. Then, you will put one sc into the next stitch. Then, you will put two sc into the next stitch. The pattern will then be: one sc in the next two stitches, then two sc in a stitch. You will continue this all the way around and slip stitch to join. When this step is complete, it will look like this:

I can't crochet for the life of me. One of you guys should sell or trade these bags on the toy swap network. I want one!

And that's the base! This base fits my Blue Swirly G perfectly as well as my Awesome Blossom.

I actually have two shops. One for my very vanilla stuff (baby hats, etc) and one that I'm starting up for more adult-themed items... such as these. I just have to get around to MAKING the stock!

Okay, I'm about to get into the instructions for the body, but I wanted to make sure everyone's on the same page before I move on. This was the most complicated part of the whole bag. Really.

That's pretty awesome. I'm always amazed at what kinds of "adult" things you can find on Etsy.
