I use trimmers for my pubic mound and scissors for the more complicated areas further down.

I shave all but a round landing strip-esque patch, and I keep that to a nice length with a trimmer. Up until a month ago I spent a year waxing/epilating. Effective, but painful - especially the ingrown hairs. I got them no matter what I did, so I eventually gave up and switched back to ye olde razor.

If you'd like some advice, I have some to share.

Since you've never waxed before, you might not want to get it done right before the shoot. You never know how your skin will react to waxing until you do it, and you don't want to discover that, say, you look like raw meat for a day or two... the day of the shoot. I'd get it done a waxing cycle before the shoot, then again closer so you know what to expect, how long you'll be tender/red/uncomfortab le etc and can time it so you look and feel your best. I know that I wasn't nice and soft and smooth until about 24 hours after waxing, personally, but that's just me.

Well I tried a little bit of everything. I started with waxing, and was painful at first, but the pain got better with time. However, I never had the guts to wax my labia so I would shave the rest. Eventually, I decided that waxing was too much trouble so I would just shave. Then, I did not like the itch and the in-grown hairs. So I bought a trimmer and electric shaver, which I liked until I decided to go through the laser hair removal. I still have one treatment left, but I barely have any hair left now.

Thank you so much for the advice. I guess since the shoot is in March I should just keep shaving. It seems to work fine and I don't mind. I shave my legs just about every day anyway. Can't stand stubble.

Thanks, advice is always welcome!

Glad I could help! Having gone through the mortification of "um, rain check because my crotch is crying?" (rain check for sex, not a photo shoot), I figure someone else can learn from my mistake. ^_^

I've never tried waxing. Right now, I just shave every day or every other day, and that seems to work fine

I just shave, I tried to maintain a landing strip but usually messed up so now, I shave everything.
I never tried laser, seems it involves too much time and is expensive. Waxing? I just don't have the tolerance for it. But something I will one day try.

I haven't tried it. I usually shave in the shower or just use lotion.

Tell me about Coochy. I've not ever even used anything else. Does it help pervent rash and itch and the in-grown hairs?

I'd be willing to give it a try. I have a photo shoot at the end of March, it'd be nice to look all clear and smooth, no bumps and such.

I shave, and I use Coochy.

I'm trying to come up with a better system than shaving. I don't shave often since I'm in an LDR, so sex is a rare occasion, but when I do shave I get sooo itchy when it's growing back.

Coochy is pretty much a cheap (inexpensive) hair conditioner sold as an expensive shaving lotion. I've used Coochy and it works great - but I get the same benefits by buying a bottle of Suave (pick your brand) and putting it in our shower dispenser (I definitely think shaving in the shower is best). One caution - don't buy the really thick or expensive conditioners - they'll clog up your blades!

Coochy is a great shave creme that is rash-free and it helps prevent ingrown hairs. it gives you a close shave everytime It's worth a try!!! Also we have an after shave mist that is to die for. Have you ever given yourself a rash free shave and then after wearing your jeans for an hour ended up irritated...this is where the mist is really helpful!! Good luck on the shoot!!!

Coochy is just like a hair conditioner because it IS a hair conditioner But this is a very high end conditioner that is formulated to soften extremely coarse hair. That's why it gives you a smooth close shave and reduces ingrown hair. If your hair isn't very coarse or you don't tend to have irritation problem, then a regular conditioner works great!! But if you have problems with irritation or if your hair is extremely coarse and hard to shave..it's Coochy all the way

I use Coochy!

I sometimes use it on my legs, and when I want to make damn sure I can control how my hair styles I use it as a conditioner as well. But for now I use it on my coochy once or twice a week. It's the only thing that shaves completely smooth and doesn't make everything all itchy a day or two later for me.

Coochy works best for me. At times i do use regular conditioner (traveling) but Coochy just feels more soothing overall. Since I shave regularly, I think I have avoided the irritation issue or my skin just got used to it.

Now I’m interested. I go check it out and it’s not available and there’s no information on ingredients. Also I don’t see the spray at all. When will these be available and when can we see details on the products?

Yeah, there are a lot of threads related to this... maybe there should be a dedicated topic for it so it is easier to keep track!

I'm a fan of it being natural but tamed. Just a very slight trim is all that's necessary. Super easy!

I shave it all off. I'd like to try a landing strip sometime though.. it looks so adorable!
And somehow, almost more natural, if that's strange to say?

I use Coochy, and I LOVE it. I've used other shave creams and even conditioners in the past, but this is the only product that doesn't clog my pores or give me insane ingrown hairs. It leaves me with the smoothest shave ever, and makes shaving in general a lot less painful. I also really love using it on my legs. It makes them super silky!
