#TheBigO - Last Chance for Summer Romance!

Contributor: Ansley Ansley

Okay, okay! So we're a little excited to catch a break from the never-ending, record-setting heat waves of the 2012 summer and we're more than ready for it to be fall around here!

Labor Day weekend in the United States marks the turn of the seasons where we start putting away the BBQ equipment, closing down the pools, and preparing ourselves for fall (and Halloween). In some states it also marks the first week back to school for many students.

Is there anything particular about autumn that you look forward to once summer takes its leave; do you start prepping for cold snaps and the oncoming winter? It could be something as simple as making sure you have a reserve of batteries for your favorite toys or stocking up on your favorite soup and stew ingredients.

Do you notice a difference between your sexual desire in the summer versus your sexual desire in the autumn? Maybe you're more adventurous during the summer, slightly more romantic and cuddly during the fall?

Lastly, does anyone here suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD); if you do, does it affect your sex life in any way?

Sometimes I wonder if I have SAD. cause I am always uber sad and touchy in the fall/winter. But I love to cuddle year round we just do it more in the colder months. haha. I stock up on batteries any way and the same goes for soup because I love soup. lol

We are more cuddly, but I think that it's because it's less muggy! We both have SAD, though my boyfriend has it worse than I do. It doesn't really affect our sex lives, though.

I live in Texas, so cold doesn't really get too cold..
Nobody to cuddle with, so it's my blanket and stuffed animals year round.

I'm also kickin' it in Texas so the weather does't affect my sex like too much. Going back to school defiantly does, though. I've already let my partners know that they should expect to see much less of me as this semester picks up.

I'm in Arkansas so it's still Summer until late October and doesn't really get that cold here. Weather doesn't affect our sexlives.

I look forward to the leaves changing and Halloween the most! Also, school starting up again gives me some more free time during the day which is nice.

There really isn't a difference in sexual desire from one season to the next for me but we definitely do more cuddling. My favorite time for that is curled up together with a movie on the couch and some hot chocolate or tea.

I don't suffer from SAD, thankfully, but feel terrible for those who do

I don't suffer from SAD but I have year-round problems that don't get in the way of sex much.

I'd say I probably have more sex in the winter when we stay in bed and stay cozy as opposed to when we're all hot and sticky and uncomfortable.

Ah winter what is that?! Where I live we don't have much of one, but when it does get "cold or chilly" I enjoy the snuggling to keep warm or laying on the couch under a blanket watching movies with my other half. Don't suffer from sad nothing really effects my sex life other then if my partner is away working.

I think my favorite part of fall is just knowing that Halloween is around the corner and that we get to see lots of cool things in the coming weeks.

I tend to not focus on seasons so much, but I do notice that I'm far more amorous during the winter than I am during the summer. I don't know...it's just something about all of that doom and gloom out there in the sky that makes me want to make mad passionate rainbows of love to splash across the horizons.

I always look forward to the cooler temperatures and the changing leaves. Plus I have time during the day now when I'm home alone, giving me time to play with my toys without having to worry about unwanted interruptions.

I look forward to Halloween. Woot! It doesn't affect my sex drive.

I'm more cuddly during the cooler months, but don't like to get sweaty during the summer.

I love 1)Chili (not a very summery dish) 2)The temperature being below 100 degrees 3)Fall smell. Fantastic. 4)Fall is as far away from summer as possible. Summer sucks.

I'm a bit sad to see summer go, because that means classes, which means getting up early and going to bed at an hour that isn't technically daytime. I enjoy the classes themselves, and seeing a lot of my friends, but I miss being lazy. As far as sexual desire, that goes up, while the available time goes down, making this issue more than a little annoying.

Since I'm single I can't comment on changes in my behavior, although I used to (still would) enjoy outdoor sex on hot summer nights when you get extra sweaty (not in a gross way lol), I suffer from depression so I would include SAD, I don't leave the house much, so I don't get any sunlight my body needs. I always say thank goodness for toys and my imagination! I don't want summer to go, the coming fall/winter seasons are sad for me-I used to love them but things changed in my life so now I have bittersweet memories that linger. sorry, not a very cheery post, I'm torn between enjoying being single-I love my space & privacy, but I would like the cuddling, cheesy movie marathons & great sex with someone besides myself!

We don't have "seasons" where I live, but it certainly gets a little bit cooler. It's always a great relief!

While I do feel I experience SAD to some extent, I don't think it affects my sex drive, if anything feeling too hot and clammy in sunny weather can put me off sex, and cold weather in the winter can make me want to stay in bed and snuggle up

I love the smell of Fall and the changing of the leaves. Don't have sad, or any change in my sex life.

I get way more cuddly during the colder months for sure. I mean, who really wants to cuddle with someone who is hot and sweaty, when they too are hot and sweaty?... ew.

I definitely think that the cold makes me want to cuddle up and stay warm. Wheras when it is really warm I get really clammy.

The seasons have little effect on my desires, they are always high no matter the temps. They do however tend to kick in a bit more during the winter, probably because the body heat is needed more.

Fall us a magical time for me and the kids, as the summer winds down we know it's time to buckle down on our aim and really start practicing for the hunting season. Getting all the vehicles, snow blower and chicken coop ready for winter fills most of my free time.

I always look forward to the fall. I'm not a fan of the heat and humidity of the summer. I also like seeing all the leaves on the trees go through their color change.

The fall is my favorite! It will be my first fall with my partner, as we met in the winter of last year, so I am excited for that.

Living in Florida, there really isn't a noticeable "change of seasons", (it wasn't until just a few years ago that I first saw the trees change color!). That said, the slight decrease in humidity is definitely welcome. I guess the major advantage to not having a real fall/winter is that it does save you both space and money in the wardrobe department.

I love the colder weather; maybe its because more of my closet is filled with non-summer clothes (?) Funny enough, the thing I look forward to most is cutting back on sodas, I find in the summer I have one a day/every 2 days while in the Winter/Fall I don't even miss it.

I love the cuddles all year round but the absence of muggy days and colder nights give more excuses to cuddle much more often -- with my man and cozy comforters. (Love!!)

For me SAD comes in phases... I live near water now and find I have many more SAD days due to the wetter winters compared to the dry ones I was used too. I bought the special light bulbs towards the end of winter this year so didn't get a chance to really try them out; hoping they help.

Is there anything particular about autumn that you look forward to once summer takes its leave; do you start prepping for cold snaps and the oncoming winter? I make sure to stock the cupboards with big mugs for hot tea, coffee and coco, take out the cooler weather clothing and look up soups, stews, heart meals ect. to make.

Do you notice a difference between your sexual desire in the summer versus your sexual desire in the autumn? I'm def more horny in the winter/fall then summer and spring XD
Maybe you're more adventurous during the summer, slightly more romantic and cuddly during the fall? I love to snuggle during the cold winter nights and enjoy fall actives outside with my fiance

Lastly, does anyone here suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD); if you do, does it affect your sex life in any way? I personally don't but I had a female partner in the past who suffered from this and it didn't effect her sex drive as much as it did her over all.
