LELO SenseMotion

Contributor: null null
Have you heard about the new line of Insignias coming out September 15? They have this new technology called 'SenseMotion', see more here: link
Basically it's a controller that responds to movement, and works from 39 feet away. You can see the three styles (Lyla, Oden, Tiana) in the Pre-Launch Release pdf.
The Tiana kinda looks like a We-Vibe II, but with motion control.
I wonder what the price will be like... Any other information, opinions?

I love the colors of them. So cute. I'm actually looking forward to the release, and I'm wondering about the price point as well. I'm hoping the technology works better than current wireless technology too.

From my understanding it sort of works like one of those Wii console remote things.

I wonder how well they react, they make it sound like it is quite sensitive to all movement one makes. Thanks for putting a link!

They look fun!! I have a feeling they will be expensive though. The Insignia line is expensive, so I am assuming this line will be even more. I guess I will just have to save up to try one.

I'm looking forward to getting at least one of them - just not sure which one yet.

Cool idea, but I'll have to see some reviews on these before I buy. I'm wondering how touchy they will be to movement (like will it turn off if it's in my pocket and moves around in there). Fingers crossed, though!

I've already been joking with my SO that it's a terrible idea for me: start having an orgasm, flail, toy turns off/goes crazy.

Interesting. The next logical step is to have a smartphone app that allows you to remotely control a device. With a smartphone app, the options become limitless as you can program the vibrator to do whatever you want (i.e. vibration strength, duration, patterns, based on location, position of phone, time of day, etc., etc.)

Can you imagine a kinky scavenger hunt based on your location, using the vibration signals to let the wearer now if you're getting hotter or colder?

OhMiBod already has an app for their wireless toys that lets you 'draw' the vibrations on your iPod/iPhone. I'd really like to see this expanded to other devices, toys and input means. SO and I both program, so it'd be really fun to write programs for each other and use those. Dem sexy, sexy for loops...
The scavenger hunt idea sounds awesome! I'm pretty sure you could implement a smaller version of this with the new Insignias, akin to that 'hot vs cold' game we all played as kids.

So I've been looking more at this line, and can anyone explain to me how the "SenseMotion" controls work?

The controller uses accelerometers, so it 'knows' what position the controller is in, similar to how iPods know if they are in landscape or portrait position.

This is such a cool idea, but I'd like to know how sensitive the controller is first. If you twitch the wrong way, does it set it off? Also like to know how strong the vibration are etc. Love the idea, but I'll probably wait for some reviews to come out before splurging (unless none come out quickly and I can't take it anymore).

Hmm... sounds interesting. I'm just trying to picture how this is implemented into controlling the vibrations. So you tilt it one way to increase the power and another to decrease?

From that it sounds like it doesn't over react to movement. Now I want one!

I'm still working on finishing off my review - but the sensemotion thing is pretty darn awesome - its similar to a ps3 controller with a rumble pack. The vibrations of the toy are also felt in the remote - its pretty awesome
