So you want the story Airen and Dwtim about silicone toys and silicone lube. It happened before Tantus' time (we began in 1998) so I'm going to tell it without names but let you know I heard it from the silicone company in question- Before Tantus, a small silicone company was making silicone out of Tin Cure Silicone. We make it out of Platinum Silicone, and I think we were the first to do so. So a customer used a well known silicone lubricant on a silicone toy and something happened, usually it gets gummy because the two dimethicones are bonding, I'm not sure exactly what happened but someone got scared and took it to the hospital (it was happening in her body so she had every right to take it to the hospital. Liability insurance paid out on it and viola... a new marketing message came to fruition- NO SILICONE TOYS WITH SILICONE LUBE.

There are several great harness manufactures. If you are looking for something sturdy and durable, Mr S Leather in San Fran can custom fit one for you. We also love Aslyn Leather and Spareparts. Its really a personal preference on material and cost.

I will keep you posted - I love the shape of the B Bomb, so now that I know how to update the announcements (ahem) I'll be sure to let y'all know.

That's good to know! It should be trickling into our reviews as well.

That's neat! I never knew that. Learning so much in this meeting!

I gotta say, I'm really sad to hear the copper has been discontinued, especially since I never got a chance to get any and I have a bit of a metallics fetish. I liked it because the copper, and the neons all pushed the envelope of what's considered traditional for any adult accessories. I hope you guys eventually make more metallics... and hope that maybe I can snag one or two on closeout.

You guys mention having art backgrounds. It's very important with art to always keep pushing the line. Right now, when I think about Tantus the first thing that comes to mind is "NEON TOYS", which is a good thing, I think, from an advertising perspective, and I really hope you keep the funky colors! I think everyone has a very specific mental image when they first start to think about sex toys.

Do you plan to keep challenging the standards of adult toy design with more than just color, or do you prefer the traditional approach to shape, size, and accessories? Which wins out: "Play it safe" or "challenge conventions in any way"?

Also, if Tantus is trying for "going green" something that could take a rechargeable battery or be plugged in would be greener than the single use batteries.

Sometimes YEARS. Really it all depends on the design.

Finally, something worth bending down in the hot sun and getting stuck with briars! Haha. That is my kinda orchard!

Can you ladies provide any hints as far as new products that are in the works?

I would love to see more reasonably priced plugs.

That would be great. Tantus has so many great products and unlike some other companies the reviews seem incredible on almost everything I see.

Organic and vegan, which is also kinda cool. The best part about our warehouse is that there is ZERO smell - I'm asthmatic, so I'm kinda sensitive that way.

(Often it smells like cookies around here, though, since our building is next to a cereal factory. Fun factoid.)

I was also wondering if you could recommend a soft, silicone vibrator that Phthalates free and Hypo-allergenic for my first Tantus product?

May I ask two questions? What toy do you feel is your best success and was there a toy that just didn't do it for people?

I was also curious about the chemistry of the silicone materials Tantus uses Is the material basically just PDMS (polydimethyl siloxane). Also, does "platinum" refer to a catalyst used in the polymerization, or is it just a trade term?

We store all of our Tantus toys in two drawers of our toy chest and we've never had any problems.

I have noticed that your products dont have a lot of the smells that other manufacturers products have which is definately a plus. I hate opening something and being overwhelmed with an unpleasant smell.

Yes, ..and what prompted the move from California?
A lot of it was the fact that most of our employees couldn't afford to really have a decent quality life in San Diego. In Reno an apartment is 1/2 the cost of a San Diego apartment. If we can't give our employees (each and every one of them) a better quality of life what are we doing being in business.

WOW, very interesting. I had a feeling it may have had something to do with cheaper silicone. Good thing all my silicone is high quality, like yours.

Your job just keeps getting more and more attractive!
One of the reasons I like EF so much is so I don't have to go into scent-loaded shops; I'm asthmatic, too

As someone who used to live in SD I understand that. It makes me happy when I hear that companies I like take good care of their employees.
