Sad to cash in

Contributor: domsub1993 domsub1993
I love saving. I'm definitely a saver. I also love new things though.

I have saved over 10100 points and am going to cash them in while some things I want are on sale. I am excited to get something new, but also sad to see my points go down and have to start over.

How ridiculous is that?!?

Not ridiculous at all, I'm the same way lol. The definition of hoarding is having things just to have them and getting comfort that they're there, and I would say I hoard my points based on that lol. I like knowing that they're there and I do get sad if I cash them in for anything.

So not ridiculous! I said I'd cash mine in once I got a certain amount, but when I passed that, I set a new goal. When I hit my new point total, I might cave again.

I don't think it's ridiculous. It must have took you a long time to accrue that many points. I must say I am impressed. However, the bright side is you'll have some new toys to play with!

That's not ridiculous. Sale time is a great time to cash them in that's for sure.

I know, hoarding them is like a sense of pleasure for me, lol.
So when I spend them I'm like maaaaaan.

I cash in whenever I need to, even if it's just to cover the last $5 of an order.

I gave in and cashed my 43 or whatever bucks I had. Fail. Now I start again. I keep telling myself at least wait till 59 dollars to get free shipping. lol. Well see what happens next time.

There's so much stuff I haven't tried that I usually cash in well before my goal. Last Monday, I cashed in and donated to Eden Gives Back. Yesterday, I cashed in and bought a few items for my husband's upcoming birthday and I'll probably do it again next Tuesday. We'll see. I tend to set goals for toys I want or lingerie I want, but if I see that they're in danger of being backordred, I go for it. It does make me sad, but knowing I'm getting a package makes me happy. So I guess it's a draw for me. LOL

I just hit my 5,000 point mark and am going to cash in soon; I don't want to at all!

I am the same way! I need a cushion in case I want something right now! I just spent all my points on my husband and now it is my turn!! It just really sucks when that one item you have been wanting to come back in stock does . . . when you have 50 points and need to put it on your credit card!

That's ALOT of points!! My suggestion would be to request a FREE assignment(if u're eligible), then when u get ur assignment, start adding things u want/need into ur cart(especially since MOSTLY everything is on SALE), then u can cash in for ur gift card && be on ur way to checkout, u might not even use up ALL of the points!! It's all about saving

So here's something nice Eden does---when you make an order, you get 5% of the order back in points. So when I just bought my Eleven, I got back 1440 points, and you don't feel *quite* like you're starting with nothing.

(And yes, it felt really weird to spend alllll those points)

thats what your points are for, cashing in for new toys.

I'm the opposite. I love cashing in! It's means new toys are in my near future!

I know that when the ticker goes down to zero for me I have a bit of disappointment. But then the 5% from the sale kicks in, and I start feeling better.

Totally not! I love cashing in, but I understand how you feel. I try to have 10000 points in there at any given time.

I don't mind cashing the points in, but have to agree that it's hard starting from 0 points again. The first 1000 points seem the hardest to collect for me. Or at least they seem harder even though they actually grow just as fast as the rest...lol.

The good thing is, when you cash in your points and place an order with that gift card, some of your points end up being returned to you. So really, you don't start off with nothing again.

Now I can certainly understand being upset about cashing in points. I for one tend to feel very guilty when I cash in my points, mainly as I feel like I am getting something for nothing, despite the fact that I know I am going to continue to write what I feel are quality reviews for the site.
