Unfortunately, you can't keep a Gift Registry private. Whenever you activate a Gift Registry, it makes your list of products public.

However, as Sam mentioned, you can make your wish list public without activating the Gift Registry feature. Then you can share your wish list's public URL with a person you trust. If you want them to purchase gifts for you, you can provide the trusted person with your shipping info.

This is a really great idea! I can't wait to send a couple choice friends some gifts. I will have to encourage more to get wish lists!

I never started a "wish list" but I will now. I guess I never wanted my "wishes" to be public but why not? My thoughts on toys have so evolved over the past 3 years.

Are you able to search for a specific person somehow to see what is on their gift registry?

Can the gift giving be anonymous? because that could be a lot of fun

As of right now I don't think you can search for a specific person to see what's on their registry because to me, if they wanted all of that in one spot for everybody to be able to easily see, they'd already have a public wish list on their profile.

Yes, it can sort of be anonymous.

Whenever you buy a gift for someone, the recipient will receive a notice saying that someone bought them a gift. The notice will include the giver's username and their state/country. So, if you would like to surprise someone and send them a gift somewhat anonymously, you could make a different account with a username the recipient wouldn't identify as you. The recipient would still see your state/country in the email notice, but your username would be new to them, so it would be more like a surprise.
