Hell, I am not even sure there is a good answer for my case. I have a hell of a time getting to the first one, but once I am there usually I am home free and there is not one damn thing I can do about the others that follow. Sometimes the intensity of the first one just bleeds over into the next, and the next and next, and an hour later I am a blithering mess on the throe.

My orgasms actually tend to build. They start small and get bigger. Usually. Not always. Sometimes I'll have sort of an uber-orgasm and then the rest is downhill. But the downhill ride is still pretty fun.

I usually can't stand to only have one orgasm. It's rare for me not to have at least three per session on my own. It use to be that my first one was the big earth shattering one, with the second dropping a little and the third wouldn't be anything special.
But since meeting my Master, even number thirteen is fantastic! I actually think they get even better after the first orgasm these days.

I really like to have one or two very intense ones.
But, usually, all I can produce are minor, disappointing ones so I often keep going until I've had between ten and twenty in one session.

I don't "try" for multiples, though. It happens. For me, usually intensity is increased with some (but not too much) build up, and sometimes if I have not had an orgasm for several days.

Usually one is good enough. I've done up to three at a time, but it just become too much work and the payoff is only sometimes better than the first.

I vary a bit. Multiple vaginal orgasms tend to get stronger and stronger with each one (but even the first is awesome, and I'd be satisfied with that if it was all I had on a given night), and I can keep going (or let my partner keep going) without breaking stride with vaginal orgasms.

I always thought that multiple orgasms sound like such an amazing thing. But after having lived through multiples I have to agree with everyone that one perfect orgasm is the best.
I had to take organismal physiology for my major and though not the point of the class, it did make me understand for how most people quality over quantity is best through nerve conduction and muscle cell contractions. Yes I am indeed a nerd....
But to those of you that have multiples that get better I am soooooo jealous!!

For me (Being a guy) in a row, the first time is usually the second best, the second time is the best and after the third time is usually right about when id like to chill for a bit. The first orgasm is great but depending on my time and level of being turned on I have to keep in mind pacing. (Not that I get off quickly, but it isn't very difficult to do) My second orgasm I can really put some work in because I have lost a good bit of feeling that gives me more freedom to do what I want aka its easier to please my wife in round 2. Round three is so far down on feeling that I actually have to put some effort into having an orgasm. Now keep in mind that's about half a day or a few hours.

I've never really had it lessen my O's. I rarely O only one time though! My partner's very determined. Lol. I haven't ever experienced less intensity when I have multiples. A lot of times for me they're back to back for a few minutes then start up again until I'm tired out. I don't always like a lot of G-spot stimulation though. Some days it's too much and I can only handle a couple of those.
