So my father-in-law is here. This always puts a crimp on our love life. Now that we are in a smaller house its even worse; he is an incredibly light sleeper. After a few days we will end up on the floor having silent sex. What about you?

My mother was injured and moved in with us and at first I was so tired taking care of her at all hours and dealing with 3 kids that I didn't care about sex. After she started to get better but had to remain with us it was a different story. Hubby and I were really quiet for awhile and we probably would be if it were any other house guest. Eventually after the entire summer and then some we got over it and resumed our normal behavior though so I guess a lot of it depends on how long they'll be with you. We would also turn on the tv in our bedroom just for cover sound there for awhile.

The master bedroom and guest bedroom are at opposite ends of the house on separate floors, so that doesn't stop us. The problem is that things are so busy with hiking, sight-seeing, beer and wine tours, that my wife is usually exhausted when people come to visit us-- so no sex. When she isn't exhausted and in the mood, it happens.

There are very few things that would make us stop having sex even temporarily, and a house guest is not one of them. I guess it's lucky for them that our lair is at the other end of the house from the rest of the bedrooms.

It doesn't matter who is there. We are still having sex! Everytime they take a shower, we are sneaking off to the bedroom. Everytime they go take a nap, we are sneaking off to the bedroom. When they go to bed at night, we are off to the bedroom...you get the idea.

When my boyfriend had not taken my past roommates place and she still lived here, we still had sex in my room when she was here or was here with her boyfriend. She did too. At my boyfriend's apartment when he still lived there, we had sex when his brother would come and visit. We just plan it when people are sleeping so we don't have to be completely mute. I don't think anyone has ever picked up on the fact we were having sex or had sex.

As long as its quiet or done quietly while others are sleeping, i don't see the problem. I've been in living arrangements where i lived with my parents or friends, & i never let it deprive me of a healthy sex life.

As far as when we're visiting other people, it depends, but usually not since there is always a risk of making a mess.

When I'm at school, I live with two housemates and when I'm home my boyfriend and I both live with our parents. If other people being around was a problem, nothing would ever happen. As long as it's not terribly loud, it's not a problem.
