I voted "Other" because we have sex almost always. It's more than "sometimes" but less than "always". I wish we had more varied sex but at the rate we've been having sex, I'm just happy to have it at all.

My guy is awesome at bringing variety and spice to our play. He was the one who actually brought up toys, not me. He can also get pretty creative. The fact that he i so open, but that I can also trust him makes me less vanilla as well. Absolutely love him.

My personal definition of "vanilla" sex for us is straight to bed naked (or wearing nothing suggestive), foreplay with cuddling and kissing, short exchanges of oral sex, and primarily (but not exclusively) the missionary position until each of us orgasm.
My wife is quite vanilla, but I'm fine with it. She is open to my more playful sex, even if she rarely suggests it. Most of the time our sex is vanilla, it's great, and it feels even more exhilarating when we get a little wilder together.

What WE consider "average, plain" lovemaking, is "more" then what we would have consider it years ago.
It is all perception and "set points" and that is a HUGE difference with some people. There ARE...honest...folks that STILL think that doing oral on their partner is something "exotic". For us, it is COMPLETE Vanilla.
Makes this a hard question to answer.....but VERY thought provoking, to be sure.

We never have vanilla sex. Our foreplay isn't even close to being vanilla and we switch positions at least twice, if not more, once we get down to the brass tacks of the matter.
