Hey guys - anybody here use a diaphragm as their method of contraception?
My wife and I have had an issue every time we've used on - both when we were dating and now we're married. The head of my penis seems to "bang" against the rubber when it's inserted. I can actually feel it during sex - there's an uncomfortable lump - and sometimes the tip of my penis is bruised afterwards (I notice it when I pee especially.)
This isn't normal, right? Wifey seems to be inserting it correctly, but still... She thinks it might be because I'm on the larger side, but I don't think I'm THAT large. Has anybody else had issues like this? Any solutions?
We were thinking of using just spermicidal jelly instead of a diaphragm + spermicidal jelly, since we researched the statistics and the pregnancy rate is pretty negligable between the two (21% with diaphragm + spermicide compared to 26% with spermicide on its own.)
