I'm an erotica writer and have had polarized responses to this phrase when I teasingly use it at the bar, lol
When reading F/F erotica, how do you feel about a vagina being referred to as a, "cavernous hole?"

It is mild then some stuff they use these days. I don't see anything wrong with it.

I love caving haha we make sexual jokes all the time so we're kinda cool with that.
03/06/2013
I don't think it sounds sexy but that's me.
03/07/2013
It almost sounds like an insult... Like, "Ay bitch! You call that cavernous hole a vagina?" or something lol.
03/07/2013
Well, it's amusing - and I'm all for spelunking (lol), but it's not exactly a turn-on to me!

well, it's a joke me and my friends have and it's so funny how many women actually really like the terminology...none of the men like it at all
03/07/2013
I'd laugh it definately an ice breaker!
03/07/2013
It makes me cringe lol

Not very romantic or sexy, but it certainly does grab attention.

Ick, that's not how I feel about it at all. If I came upon a cavernous hole I'd probably turn tail. (sorry!)
03/12/2013
Ah geez no I really don't like this turn of phrase and would probably laugh if I read it during a sex scene!!
03/14/2013
Most slang for vaginas in erotic are hilarious to me, this included.
03/14/2013
Ew. I'm okay with wide open vaginas being described, but that just sounds gross, funny at best.
03/14/2013
No. just no
03/25/2013
Not for me..
03/25/2013
Honestly, if i we're to read or hear that in a sentence i would have a good long laugh. It does nothing sexually for me - not sexy at all.

I can't say that I've ever read F/F erotica, but I really don't find that phrase to be appealing in the least, so I thought that I'd put in my two cents. I feel like it's one of those ridiculous euphemisms that can't possibly be taken seriously.

If the piece of writing is meant to be satire or sarcastic, then I'm okay with it... but I find a lot of sexual metaphors and the like just way too over the top. Vagina's are hardly cavernous, they're only a few inches deep. I don't know. I tend to prefer the correct words for things rather than a work that's full of purple prose.
04/02/2013
That makes me laugh and feel like vomiting a little...
04/08/2013
When I think "cavernous hole," I think "deep, dark, cold, damp, but mostly big." It's a turn off.
04/08/2013
LMAO ridic question...but hey, i'll answer it I would be mildly offended...
