I generally don't do beauty bags because you never know someone's taste in makeup or skin care. I like candles for girls because pretty much everyone can use one.

Volcano candles from Anthroplogie are AMAZING or go through a Hobby Lobby/Home decor place and see if there's something that reminds you of them. If she likes to cook, find a really pretty cookbook (ex: link)

I think a beauty bag is a great idea, clothing can be good too, but only if you really know the person's style.

Every girl can use more beauty stuff. Bubble bath is great for everyone. I generally like hot cocoa kits too. I have given really pretty picture frames, personally, I never have enough for all the pictures I have.

Go with candy or chocolate. I think it's a terrible idea to give someone a gift bag with make-up they may not want. Same with clothes. Though you don't want to give a gift card, I think that's the best way to go.

I would go with shower products that aren't strongly scented unless you know of a specific one she likes, or, a DVD if you know of a movie she likes or would like and doesn't have.

For an actually child girl? Maybe a movie you know she loves or toys. I hated clothes, and I only ever use like one of of five things in a bag.

I like most of the options, depending on what your budget is (Im pretty good at hunting deals so if you are too I'm sure you could do it rather inexpensively) but an gift basket with a combination of the above would be fun with a "girls night in" theme. A chick flick, a cute pair of PJs, a nail polish and lip balm and some chocolate

I don't really like stereotypical girl gifts! I hate that family member that buys me a cheapie bag of beauty supplies from Wal-Mart because they don't really know me. Try to find out about that person! If all else fails, get a visa giftcard or something like that.

Beauty bag but only if you know that the female receiving the gift is into that stuff. It's an awesome gift for a lot of girls but just because she's a girl doesn't mean she's automatically going to like those things.

Beauty bag. You don't have to fill it with make up. Get some special lip treatment, face mask, moisturizing lotion, bubble bath, etc. Things that would make someone feel pampered and might not normally buy for themselves!

a basket filled with relaxation stuff!people are stressed..something to help them relax!like a gift certificate to a message therapist or a gift basket fill of bubble baths, soakers, candles,body soothers like gel packs for the eyes or neck,etc.

All those may be a perfect gift, depending on the person. However a DVD is enjoyed once. Candy is there...then gone. Make- up bag or cloths keep giving for a long time!

Beauty bag if you're not super close. Clothes if you trust you judgment enough for size and Style. I'll never buy my mother clothes unless she picks them out herself.
