I'm starting to like the warm LED lights that are not super bright, but I still like the old bulbs.

LED lights are the new thing and they look pretty cool. But I still like the old fashioned look, although I'd use LED because they last longer and don't use as much power! My neighborhood is being covered in them.

I love the way traditional C9 bulbs look, but the energy needed to run them is just crazy. I wouldn't use anything but LEDs now.

LED lights have very much improved in the past few years and they're much nicer to the electric bill. I still have some strands of the old bulbs, but when those are gone I'll replace them with LED.

I like LED because they are brighter and last longer and use a lot less electricity. I only have the tiny white ones strung up around the house. I love them and keep them year-round. My tree is white and pre-lit with rainbow lights that are sadly NOT LED. I like the crisp brightness of LED more and feel safer leaving them on when I go out and want a light on for when I return.

I honestly don't know traditional from LED. Christmas lights are Christmas lights. No matter how fancy or simple they are, they give me the warm-and-fuzzies.

I love the look of the C9s particularly on evergreen trees outside. They remind me of Christmas at my grandmother's when I was a kid, too. I'm sure someone is going to come up with an energy efficient replacement....some day!

I prefer LED's because from what I've read they're the safest choice and they come in a crazy number of colors too.
Some of them even have special plastic coverings that give them the same old timey look as the c9's.

Now that the coloring of LED is getting better, we may invest in those next year or the year after. But for now, regular ol' white lights.

I am not sure why age comes into this, because I am over 50 and love the LATEST and GREATEST in LED technology. It is finally THERE too. I am converting all my house lighting to LED. Christmas tree? WHO needs old burned out bulbs that suck electricity and pose a fire hazard anyway??? LED all the way!!!!

Thanks for sharing! I can't disagree that the bulb burning out are a pain the butt!

I'm in my 40s and like the look of the warm "old" bulbs. I brought age into the poll because I wondered if the majority choice would come from a younger generation. I figured I was just too old to not prefer the look of the colored LEDs.

I like the look of the old bulbs against the snow, but for environmental reasons, I prefer the LED.
