My husband, son, and I do our own holiday activities at home. We live about a 5 hour drive from my closest family, and about 3700 miles from my in-laws. We do a lot of pictures and phone calls.

My partner's family is actually more religious so I'm kind of glad to just stay home and have a 'comical' Xmas

We would normally go to my mother's for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. This year we're going to his mother's for both. (She lives up north and I no longer speak to my family.)

we use to travel to hubby's family house however we do not waste our time any more we make our own day to spend together around Christmas and have our dinner and let the grandbabies open their gifts.

His family doesn't leave near by and we have went to my family's in the past. Now we just have Christmas here at home and if anyone comes over, it is usually my best friend and her girls. They are more family to me than my own.
