I celebrate Christmas. It's actually my favorite holiday, I say Halloween when people ask me, but in all honesty I like the decorations, the music, the smell of crisp freshness in the air, cookies, and the smoke from peoples chimneys.

I hate Christmas. Lots of very bad things happened to me as a child and young adult around Christmas time. Fortunately, my hubby is not that big on Christmas, so he doesn't mind that we don't decorate or do anything. Unfortunately, his family is big on Christmas, so I am expected to show up for the family Christmas party.

We do the usual Christmas stuff like decorating and all that because it's pretty and the little guy likes it. We celebrate family togetherness more than anything because we're not religious at all.

Christmas here, we always try to be good and not get to many gifts for the kids but the grandparents never listen and always buy them a ton of stuff..

There's not really a point to celebrating christmas, it's an overdone holiday,in my opinion. Plus, I dislike feeling obligated to give people gifts/ expect gifts back. I only give gifts for birthdays.

We celebrate Christmas for of course, Jesus' B-day, but to be honest, it depresses me. I always end up loving Christmas since we have a party and all my family is there and my partner does all kinds of fun and nice things. But winter time depresses me and until it's actually Christmas eve, I have terrible emotional craps! I guess it's just that Christmas time always makes me think of the kids who need dontations for Christmas and the homeless people, etc. It kind of makes my heart sad. My partner and I are doing a food drive thingy already this year so it does help to know you're making a difference, but it saddens me. Another reason to add to my already sad time of year is last year a family member of mine was killed by her abusive boyfriend and child's father. He ran her over and we just found out today that the only thing he has to do is probation. It's just a terrible time really and hard to think about, especially when we see her kids.

Still, when it comes to Christmas and we have our party with family, I'm the happiest person ever! Just the season really brings up yucky feelings.

I feel very lonely and depressed at Christmas. It is a time of togetherness for family, couples and children and I'm so totally alone. Of course, if you have Jesus you'll never be alone they tell me.

We still live in a place where folks can get very PREACHY if you celebrate "something else", so I bet your poll would have looked very different if done PRIVATE.
