We do celebrate the holiday but we don't emphasise the 'pilgrim' version, we ceebrate it as a harvest festival and give thanks for what we have while planning for the next harvest.
We also tend to celebrate both the Canadian and American Thanksgiving as we tend to be in Canada in October and Arch loves for us to celebrate with his parents.
This year Sigel cooked almost the entire feast for Arch's parents and they were most happy! We are seriously considering going out for the holiday in Nov. but we'll see. The most important thing is Arch will be here for it as well as Monkey's birthday on the 24th.

We're not religious at all so just like Christmas, we celebrate family togetherness and good times on Thanksgiving.

I'd like to celebrate, but I have worked every Thanksgiving day for the past 5 years or so.

I celebrate in the sense that I hang out with friends and family, and eat a great meal.

Okay, I am 1/2 American Indian and we commemorate the day as a day of mourning. It was originally established to give thanks for the massacre of an entire tribe. Look it up, google it and you will discover the truth behind the day.

Nothing wrong with getting together with family, giving thanks for your blessings and eating a good meal. But the whole 'friendly feast between pilgrims and Indians' is a load of crap.

I do, but not for the reasons intended. It's a fantastic holiday to get together with family, and just spend some good time together.

I don't see the reason to celebrate. -shrug- Maybe it's because most of the food my family makes does not appeal to me? (and I'm not much of a 'family' person anyway, I HATE being around screaming children)

I do celebrate. My husband did not start celebrating Thanksgiving until he married me. Since his country does not celebrate Thanksgiving. We used to go to my Grandparents (my Dad's parents) for Thanksgiving lunch then to my Mom's for Thanksgiving dinner. This year we are only going to my Mom's.
