As a business owner, I have always taken the day off and given my employees the day off as well. But I do know many people who still have to work on this day...do you?

My husband always gets Monday's off, so he won't be working, but it's not because of Memorial Day.

In my current job I will get Memorial Day but there have been many years in the past I did have to work it and miss whatever picnic/cookout was going on that day.

I usually work. I don't mind that much though, my friends and family don't really celebrate it. My dad sometimes has a bbq, though. In junior high I was in band and marched in the memorial day parade, that was a a lot of fun.

I work part time and have every Monday off anyway, but when I was still full time I would get Memorial Day off.
