I love the Beatles, and always have. I think it could be because my mom is the Biggest Beatles fan ever, and when I was little she would sing me "Here Comes the sun" lol

Stones before Beatles.

Agreed. I'm not a Beatles fan in general, at least not of their recordings of their music. Covers of Beatles songs are better than the originals to me - for example the I am Sam soundtrack.

Yeah, they're both equally amazing.
HOWEVER
There are more living Stones than living Beatles.

I don't really listen to either so I can't say who I think is better.

Beatles.

Interpol.

I've always been a Beatles fan - but I have a great appreciation for the lyrics of certain Stones songs - my fav is 'you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might get what you need'

I appreciate both, but I'm not really a fan of either.

The Beatles seem to be a bit more musically adventurous. The Stones did experiment, but not quite as much as the Beatles.

Queen.

I much prefer the Beatles, although there are some Stones songs that I love. They were completely awesome in concert, too.

My daughter loves Queen. She's only 2, but she has always loved Queen. I guess maybe it's Freddie Mercury's voice. My husband buys her a Queen band shirt for Christmas every year.

I hate both too much to consider which is worse.... how about Carl Perkins!

I adore the Beatles, but I love the Stones. We have complete catalogs of both. I used to work in a record store and we have all kinds of bootleg vinyl of both. Plus all the stuff they did release.
We saw Paul McCartney in concert many years ago. A fantastic show. My Man stood outside Soldier's Field in Chicago when the Stones played there, even longer ago, and just listened. He couldn't get tickets.
My kids know most of the words to all the Beatles and Stones songs, we played them so much.

I dislike the Stones, and I disliked the Beatles somewhat when I was younger. But I have come to respect the Beatles quite a lot in recent years. Some songs I may even like now.

um... why is there no zeppelin option?

I remember seeing the Beatles and the Rollings Stones on the Ed Sullivan Show. Both of them appealed to me and being an adolescent I begged my parents to buy their albums. So, having grown up to their music, I think they are both awesome.

No Zeppelin because almost every single one of their songs is a word for word note for note rip off of some artist or another. Very strange considering how talented they all were as musicians. The Stones and Beatles were guilty of this as well, but they are better known for their own music, and they attributed where they got their stuff from, unlike Zeppelin. As far as the Beatles and the Stones go, I think David Lee Roth put it best when he likened both bands to young boys and how they would keep their bedrooms. He pointed out that the Beatles would have neat and tidy rooms, whereas the Stones would have messy rooms. I thought this was a good way of looking at things, and since my room was a fucking disaster growing up, I am going with Mick and the boys.

Yes, Zeppelin did copy some songs, but I think your mistaken about Zeppelin not writing their own songs. This link link clearly shows that they wrote a lot of their own songs.
