Movies - I'm not a big reader.

I usually prefer the movies but sometimes I will read the book too, especially if it's a movie that I really like.

I enjoy reading a good book every now and then. But I rather watch a movie than read. Reading sometimes makes me sleepy, lol.

That is what I do as well. I am usually slightly (or more) disappointed, but there have been a few that really knocked it out of the park:

The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Christopher Nolan Batman films, about half of the Harry Potter films, and the first two Spider Man films were really very excellent adaptations.

But even with those, a lot of the time I still enjoy the original source a little bit more.

Although there have been some movies that led me to the book, and then onto a good author (Jurassic Park for one).

If I enjoy a story in one kind of media, I'll usually give it a go in another format.

I like to read the book and then see the movie. I just can't get into the book if I see the movie first.

Both, but I prefer to read the book first then see the movie.

I always read the book first when I can. I like seeing how close my vision is to others.

I prefer to read the book rather than seen the movie, but if I really enjoyed the book I might watch the movie to compare the two.

I usually do both, but I almost always prefer the book. The Harry Potter films are a good example- they're good on their own, but there's *SO* much emotional depth to the books that isn't even touched upon in the movies.

I just haven't found the time to read since becoming a father.

One exception- I seriously prefer the LOTR movies to the books!

Why not both? They're different experiences.

Books are totally better (most of the time)

Read the book (or listen to the audiobook) then see the movie.

It really depends! For example, the Harry Potter movies, I absolutely loved them even though I had only head the first 4 books of the series (I plan on finishing, honest).

But I have the worst time sitting through movies, and I have no clue why. I'd much rather read.

I far prefer reading a book to a movie, though there are some notable exceptions. I loved reading Lord of the Rings, but seeing on screen was an experience for sure. I can't wait for The Hobbit to come out.
