I like most of them for various reasons, but I usually pick Charmander.
I had blue, all them years ago. I have the remake of Red poking around.

Blue was my favourite color, but I usually opted for either Charmander or Bulbasaur.
Favourite Pokemon game overall will always be Crystal, and starter being Cyndaquil (it's a hedgehog, it's made of fire, I love it by default.)

I always started out with either Squirtle or Bulbasaur, usually the former, because then I could kick ass at the first two gyms. I played Blue more than Red, which is why I put only that one in the poll.

I had yellow as a kid so I usually got pikachu :p
but on my bro's red I'd go for Charmander or Bulbasaur - Bulbasaur is such a sassy little shit and Charmander becomes Charizard the badass sooo

but i've a soft spot for Gold/Silver and their starters although the only one I really care for is Cyndaquil but totodile is pretty awesome too.

I really didn't care for any of the first gen starters! I usually replaced them before I got to the Elite 4! If I had to pick I'd go with Bulbasaur, though. I really love all of the Johto starters, though, that was totally my favorite gen!

I went for starters:
Squritle, Feraligatr, Torchic, Chimchar, Snivy, and soon Froakie. When I played yellow, I would never actually train my Pikachu and instead used a Primeape as my starter because the in the very first gym, Pikachu has no effect on half the pokemon.
