I absolutely love Lady Gaga but her fame is kind of wearing off that new-car smell. Her stuff was bizarre but catchy when she first hit cd stores, but is it still the same for you? Do you still love her as much as you first did (if you do, I'm aware that some find her sense of style and music absolutely atrocious.) For me, I think her 15 minutes of fame is coming to a halt and she's going to have to come out with something really inventive instead of just bizarre to keep her listeners listening.
Is she getting old for you yet?

I think she's great.
But I hate her music lol. Really always have. I just thought she was good for pop music/popular culture. Everything she did was like a parody of mainstream popular culture and jokingly exhibitionist, like "all you people want is a spectacle so I'm going to give it to you and you're going to fuckin love me for it." And it sold. Hard.
Not only that, but she did it with a profound sense of pop music history which almost no one seems to reference. Beyond Madonna comparisons, that is. Elton John, David Bowie. The House of Gaga? I mean come on, it's a total rip on Andy Warhol's Factory! But that's okay with me, because people need to start remembering that just a few decades ago, pop music wasn't just something that was cranked out in major record label recording studios by people who can't sing or write for themselves. It was people creating things for themselves. Creating sounds, images, styles. I don't really care if all her music sounds like garbage to me or if she leaves the house wearing stuffed animals strapped to her body. At least she's trying.

That's exactly how I feel about her. I still think her music is great, but her persona's gotten to be a bit too much for me.

This is how I feel about Lady Gaga
She's made a lot of comments that could easily be considered offensive to the GLBT+ community, and it caused me to lose the last bit of respect I possibly had for her. Even before when I watched her at Gay Rallies, it didn't strike me as sincere, but just another show.
Her fashion isn't from her own mind, she's just a hanger. I fucking love Alexander McQueen, he's the one who gets the credit (and other designers), not her.
There was a point when I really hoped that her music would expand because I thought she had potential. But... now she's shown herself to be such a repugnant person that I don't think I would choose to support her business even if it did.
There are plenty of artists out there doing much more creative things with pop music, who are more understanding of sexuality and what is truly "bizarre". I've made a point to pay for their music and support that instead.

I really don't "folllow" celebs and their lives, it's just not something I care about. Plus, I'm too busy doing my own life, no time to waste on what some celeb is doing. Now, I do LOVE HANSON. I'm a HUGE fan and will share, listen, like and melt every time I listen to their music, but I don't feel the need to read up on what they're doing in their lives. I do enjoy specials on TV when I see that they're doing something like a recent tour where they done some weekend walk with no shoes and gave them to the homeless. I enjoyed watching a few minutes about that, but that's because I enjoy watching, reading, learning about people who are passionately making a diff in this world. However, celebs are only celebs.
Now back to the subject. Lol
I never was a fan of her. I've heard her music, heard gossip about her, etc. but always found her music highly irritating. I really don't see anything about her music that stands out to me or screams original. I simply just ain't a fan.

I love her, but I think she does need to go in a new musical direction to change things up a bit.

:| Lady Gaga has some really amazing songs lawl.

Exactly this. I didn't like her at first. I just didn't 'get' her thing, I guess. But I'm warming up.

Never liked her.
12/13/2011
I think he new music, while enjoyable, isn't as fantastic as it was.
12/13/2011
I wasn't really fond of this album. And the music video for Born This Way was just too avant garde for my tastes. Mostly I just listen to string covers of her songs, like the Vitamin String Quartet version of Alejandro.
12/13/2011
I like her, but it would be nice if she'd release more interesting sounds.
12/13/2011
I always thought she was the other half to Marilyn Manson. He's still around but noone really cares anymore. I suspect that same will be true of her soon too...
12/13/2011
She would have been more relevent and "shocking" thirty years ago, when her counterparts did it first. She's a joke.
12/13/2011
She never did anything for me. An other "LOOK LOOK LOOK AT ME!" quasi star.
I like musicians who focus on the music not the flash.
I think she's silly. Yeah yeah yeah, she's "pro gay rights." So are a lot of people. That doesn't make her a great musician.
The lure of "Fame" in this country is disgusting. The less we watch of "Reality" TV and the less we focus on attention whores, the better off we'll all be and we'll have decent entertainment back again.

I never liked her to begin with. Just seems like a revamped madonna.
12/13/2011
I still like her music...not really her though.
12/13/2011
I've always hated her but must admit some songs are catchy. You & I isn't bad. But yes I am sick of seeing her everywhere.
12/14/2011
I was never a fan. Bad Romance was ok, but I grew tired of that pretty quickly. I usually get bored of pop songs very quickly. There are only a few exceptions.
Anyways, I'm surprised her fame lasted this long.

Her music is great. I can't get enough of it somedays.
12/14/2011
I like her stuff. Admittedly, 30 seconds to Mars did a better cover of "Bad Romance" than her original.
If she's still around in 5 years, she'll be thought of as the next Madonna.

This is the second time you've captured my sentiments exactly on this forum! She exploits the cause of GLBT equality & dignity and makes a solitary, two-dimensional cartoon out of a diverse and multi-dimensional community. She also constantly conflates queerness with "rebel" status, as well as calling us "monsters" and I'm so, so, so not down.

I can't stand Lady Gaga
12/19/2011
I'm not a fan of hers, but I don't foresee her going away in the near future.
12/19/2011
I really like her stuff, but I only have a few favorite songs from her, and honestly some of her videos are weird in a too-far kind of way for me. I mean, I appreciate crazy weird art and think it's valuable, but it's just too weird sometimes for me to be interested =\ which is strange to say, usually I'm a serious fan of the weird!
12/19/2011
I never liked her at all.

I didnt like her at first but somehow fell in love with it and her persona
