Silence of the Lambs is actually one of only half a dozen movies that I like better than the novel. And it's not that I didn't like the book, I just really thought that the movie was spectacular.

So true.

"The Academy" voters definitely use criteria other than film quality when they pick "Best Picture". I want to do a discussion on best film not to win the Oscar, but it's a HUGE task, because there are SO MANY great films that didn't get a statue.

I love this poll! I'm super obsessed with the Academy Awards and the Best Picture category in general.
I'm proud to say that I've seen at least one movie (often more) from each decade except the 20's, which will be remedied shortly.
