Any Rennies on Eden?

Contributor: Pixel Pixel
Renaissance Faire season is starting soon in my state as well as others, so I was wondering who else on Eden either participates in or goes to Ren Faires?

As for myself, this season marks my third year working the 'big' Faire in state, and I plan on traveling the circuit next year, working as many Faires as possible.

Have never been. Around here they call it the Society for Creative Anachronism. Sounds like something about the same.

Never been.. I think all the people walking around eating roasted meat with their bare hands kind of keeps me away.

SCA is similar, yeah. Only they tend to take historical accuracy much more seriously than Faires do, and they also meet more frequently.

lol. I don't know about various other Faires, but at the two I have worked at, the meat is usually sold on sticks if not on a plate. And the giant turkey legs are sold wrapped in paper.

I went a couple of years ago and a lot more often when I was a teenager. It's just too expensive these days and too far to drive to the lot. But, man I'd kill to have a turkey leg, fryed cheese, and a bbq sandwich. And Ded Bob is always a must if he's on circuit that year.

We don't really have Renaissance Fairs, but we have, on occasion, had medieval era fairs in town, which I've gone to.

Been to a couple back in California, always wondering how heavy those chain armors weigh. The city I now live in has annual Robin Hood Festivals, but they're in no comparison to the Renaissance Faires.

Haven't been to one in probably 10 years, but they are fun! There's always so much stuff to do, watch, eat, and buy. Maybe we will go this year though.

Many years ago, I used to perform regularly at a certain very large faire, and performed a few times at other faires as well. I now only help out a friend with his somewhat smaller faire that my husband jousts in.

We now go to enjoy them about every 2-3 years. Many years ago, before we had kids, we worked at one for two summers.

I'd love to go, but I've never had the chance! It seems like to much fun.

I would love to go to one, but I don't have the funds, babysitter or slightest idea where to start. I do know friends who go, though. Looks like fun!

I LOVE the Renn Faire! Our entire family goes and one of my daughters has worked our Renn Faire in the past.

I hope we can afford to go this year (money is really tight) as I really enjoy it and didn't get to go last year.

I always took babies and small children to the Renn Faire. There are plenty of family activities and kids are always welcome.

I finally went for the first time with some friends a few weeks ago. We didn't dress up, but instead dressed for the weather since it was in the upper 90's, but we had a blast anyway. I'm planning on going back with my friend later this month, and I'm going to try and wear a corset for the day.

I have gone quite a few times. I love getting the huge drum stick and watching all the drunks in costume. And looking at the weapons and costumes and other stuff for sale. It's a lot of fun.

I've been for a few! I'd go to more, but my sci-fi convention usually devours all of my fall funds!

I've got quite a snappy Sir Francis Drake outfit I'll wear from time to time. I sometimes travel with the Ojai Madrigali Renaissance Singers to the faires up and down California.

I've been to the one here in michigan a few times, but it's been a while since the last time I went. I like to go for the different shops and a couple of the shows. I like the Washer Women. Ded Bob was good the first couple times, but his show hasn't really evolved that much over the few times I watched it.

I want to go this summer for sure!

Ded Bob's show doesn't change, unless it's an election year. Then he has one new joke!
