My husband has decided to go to school to get his CDL. The deal is he will work local routes only--no long-distance trucking. But it seems that even with the local jobs, the pay is very good, with benefits. Can anyone tell me about their experience as a truck driver? Also, do you recommend paying for school yourself (it's really expensive!) or just work for a company that pays for it? We do need to be unattached because we want to move to Washington state next year. Thanks!
