Are you a foodie? Love to cook?

I'm just wondering how many other people are foodies on EF

I'm a good cook, I just hate to cook. The only thing that I make that's superb is French Toast. Yeah, pretty sad... I have my little girl cook for me, I sometimes prep next to her to get things moving faster.

I love to cook. I try to make something new every week or two, and especially for holidays and family get togethers. I have come a very, very long way in the nearly eight years I've been married. One of the first meals I made was fried chicken and rice-a-roni, which I burnt to a crisp.

I make awesome instant ramen (sometimes I throw in an egg or a hot dog). I've been known on occasion to make pancakes. The end.

I love to eat yummy food though

Cooking is a lot of fun, at least when you have time to enjoy it! Although I don't really do much baking.

I love to cook and my BF loves to eat, so it works out well. Anyone that has ever come over for dinner has said I am a good cook, and I haven't given anyone food poising yet so I am doing good! LOL

I can cook pretty well, but I don't have a lot of money or time, so I just stick to what's quick, cheap, and easy. I'm obsessed with baking, though.

When I think of a "foodie," however, I think of somebody who is obsessed with the actual act of EATING food...and that's definitely me. I'm eating an entire third of a cake right out of a 9x13 pan as I type this.

I'm not a professional chef by any means but I absolutely love cooking and it's basically my second hobby behind music. I guess I'd be a "foodie" since I also really love the whole process of buying, comparing, and putting together different flavors and combinations. My partner and I are also pretty big into the whole local foods/sustainable foods stuff.

I love to bake, but I really only cook steak or macaroni & cheese (homemade). My husband, however, loves to cook, so I'm lucky

I almost went to the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) . I backed down because I didn't like pulling blood and guts out of animals and fowl. Now I just pull them out of people.

I love baking!! And cooking is fun, when you have the time to do it. I love following recipes and trying new things, I just find that the prep work and time required to REALLY cook is just more than I can dedicate to it right now.

I love to cook and bake. I'm actually *really* looking forward to cooking and baking this week - and not sitting in front of a computer all day

I don't wanna answer because while I'm not a professional (anymore!) I have kitchen skillz that go above and beyond the second choice...in my most humble of humble opinions, anyways. I spent 7 years working in a very classy kitchen, but that was a different life ago. Some days I can't help but think that I made the wrong choice pursuing science.

I'm a good cook.. but I am often too lazy/tired to cook. When I do cook, it's usually pretty awesome. But when I'm not awake or just spent all day doing whatever that has me exhausted.. it's mac-n-cheese day. lol.

So I cook, I love it and I am good at it. I was raised old world italian so I don't skimp on the ingredients either. I get into trouble because I focus a lot on presentation. I used to have a blog all about my cooking and baking, but took it down I should link a new one to my craft blog. I am certainly no Mario Bartelli, but I bet if I had access to ingredients and time I could do it.

I have considered going to cooking school because I love it so much, too costly though or I would.

By 'foodie' do you mean cooking, or eating?
Since I like both, I guess I have to say yes, but the definition isn't one I recognize.

I love cooking when I have the time. When I dont have much time I revewrt to my junk food fav like poutine.

I love trying to do things I have tried in really nice restuarants. I don't always succeed in making the same flavours come out but I get pretty damn close and it is usually delicious.

Sometimes I try new things that arent so good, lol. But my partner is awesome to eat and tell me the truth that it isn't so good to make sure I don't make the same mistake again. Or sometimes I love something he doesnt so I try to keep those recipes for me (I am semi-vegetarian so we often tend to not eat the same meals anyway).

I cook a good four nights a week and bake and make new things and try out new recipes all the time. I luuurve cooking but most days I am tired and don't have the nergy to make nom nom things all the time. The weekends in our house however are normally full of home baked goods and crockpots full of meaty goodness, wines and fresh baked bread. I love going out to cafes and trying new things with friends too

I know it sounds corny, but the way to a man's heart (or loins) is through his stomach ... I don't know how many times I had proposals (formal, informal, and downright raunchy) whenever I cooked for someone. My boyfriend doesn't want me to cook now in our relationship - he remembers how good I was back in high school, and he's scared to death that he'll want to marry me because of my cooking (we both had bad experiences with marriages since HS).

But, yeah, I love to cook/bake/etc, especially complex and/or exotic things, love to create my own recipes (I really should put that cookbook together and get it published), and love to eat good food - especially when someone else makes it.

I love to cook and both my guys love to eat! Sigel is an amazing cook....he took cooking classes in highschool and thought about becoming a chef. Arch loves to eat good food but the preparationg of it makes him nutz! He hates the time it takes to prepare even the simplest foods. Makes him the perfect partner though, we cook and he cleans up

My Grandmother always insisted that cooking WAS science so it's not that odd a choice as far as I can see

My apartment, like many in Hawaii, has no kitchen or counterspace. Just a fridge. You can do a lot on a table (ok, its a tv cable spool) a, George Foreman, and a hot plate. Since I'm single and an athlete, food is really a lot of protein powders, egg whites, ground turkey and chicken breasts and yogurt. When I go shipping someone always asks"live alone?" or "that must be why you look like that", etc. I don't look at food as a source of pleasure but as a building tool, so if it isn't body worthy, its not coming home with me.'

But all I really want for the last few years and can't find is smoked whitefish on black pumpernickel bread, and some really good caviar. Miss Philadelphia. No soul food here.
