Camping out for Black Friday sales: Would you? Could you?

Contributor: SneakersAndPearls SneakersAndPearls
Today is Monday. On the news, they are showing people already camping out in lines for deals. Would you consider lining up this early, or at all? Personally, I wouldn't.

If I started camping out now, I'd have to leave line for thanksgiving...?

No way! Stores have sales all the time during the holidays, and now we have cybermonday, so all the craziness of black Friday just seems like a waste of time.

*facepalm* Seriously?

This is beyond sad to the point that I am speechless to come up with a snarky reaction. I mean, really, people? Shouldn't the police arrest them for loitering or blocking pedestrian traffic or something like they did during Occupy Wall Street?

We don't really even shop much on black friday. Sometimes we'll look online or wander around in the afternoon when everyone has left...

Not on Monday, but for a few hours near where I live. No one camps out for that long so it would be silly. A few hours, yeah sure!

I definitely wouldn't camp out this early. If I were going to do it super early, it'd be an hour or two after my Thanksgiving dinner at the earliest and midnight at the latest. I don't plan to this year, though. I'm going out around 8AM to pick things over and see what's left. That's worked well for me in the past.

I "camped out" for an hour at Fry's to get my laptop for grad school. I will absolutely never do it again.

Just ask your family to come by and drop off some turkey. Ahaha, can you imagine? I don't think camping out for sales is worth missing Thanksgiving..

Never. I've waited around a little early inside the store before, but I would never camp out for too long.

When I was in college I would go to the mall at midnight for specials, but that's about it. Now that I have a "big girl job" I have to work Friday, so I will probably just shop online while I "work"

I wait until "cyber monday" rather than waste my time and in some cases even risk my health

I'd stand out for a couple hours before a store opens on Friday morning, but I would never camp out this early.

Nah, I wouldn't bother with it. I could probably do it, but I just don't go in a frenzy over black friday deals. Not unless they're online! XD

No siree. I like being asleep in my own sweet bed. Plus, there's nothing material-wise so important to me that I would go to that extreme. I like being comfortable, safe and cozy! I'll get to the stores when my butt has had ample, warm, safe, comfy sleep! Lol. I HAVE woken up early to go shopping on Black Friday, but that is as far as I'll go. Plus, WTH?! People don't even care to spend their Thanksgiving evening/night enjoying it with family and loved ones. They're too busy worrying about getting ready to go buy things. Ugh. More, more more. Forget that. I'll stay up just as late as I always do, on Thanksgiving night I will be with my loved ones having a blast and will sleep in the next day without any doubts. I couldn't imagine wasting my day to be extra thankful and with my family worried about material things.
