Coffee or Tea......cups?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
We are going to a wedding. On their Macy's gift registry, the couple has requested a full set of "coffee cups" (slightly bigger) and identical "tea cups" ( slightly smaller). We were surprised anyone would make the distinction in this day and age!
Do you use different cups in your home for coffee verses tea?

We use the same mugs for both coffee and tea. We've each got our own special mug for personal use, then we have the rest for our guests.

Nope. We have some coffee mugs that get used for everything, though they're not part of any set and some a little bigger than the others.

I don't drink coffee, but I do have mugs, and I also have tea cups (the ones that are delicate and come with their own saucers).

yes
I have large mugs for coffee
but the tea i drink tastes bad watered down so I have these small, insulated - double blown glass tea cups from teavana ( which is also where I buy my tea hence the distinction)

I drank a London Fog from a mug tho but the extra cream gave the tea more body etc. and I usually don't have additives in the things I drink -shrug-

Nope. I just use this gigantic coffee mug for both - or more often, hot chocolate.

I've seen the distinction when my wife and I were registering for wedding china, we didn't care and just went with the coffee ones. When I'm at home I have three mugs I use, all probably would be considered coffee mugs, but I drink both coffee and tea.

We have coffee mugs that get used for coffee and tea....I do have a china set that has it's own matching tea cups and saucers that we will use if we get out the fancy china, but for everyday use the mugs are for any sort of hot drink!

Oh man. I have coffee cups that are all-purpose, cups that are just for teabag teas, cups that are just for loose leaf teas, and sets of fancy tea cups for different types of teas when guests come over. I like collecting cups though. So...=]
