Do cold things give you nightmares?

Contributor: Falsepast Falsepast
I found out that when I sleep with my feet out of my blanket, eat or drink cold things, or am just cold I have nightmares.
Does this happen to everybody?

When my feet are cold, I can't even fall asleep, so no nightmares for me...and I don't drink or eat cold stuff before I go to bed.

Nope, not to mention that mostly I prefer to have my feet out, and I drink a little room temperature water before going to bed (NOT cold, I can't stand icy cold water! ) - but I used to have weird Nightmares when I happened to fall asleep laying on my back - I have no idea how come it happened, and about such things in general - a mighty good topic to research! ~grins ^^

I've never thought about it, but it's an interesting concept, and could be the source of my nightmares. I'm not sure.

I've never connected my nightmares with any particular action.

Chocolate before bed does it to me. I LOVE chocolate, but the neurotransmitters can really wreak havoc with dream time.

I haven't noticed cold making me have nightmares, cold can help me sleep, cause heat gives me insomnia. I think some nightmares might be because it's getting too hot for me. I tend to find that sounds, like the tv or music, tend to influence my dreams the most. I do think I'll try monitoring the temperature after I wake up from a dream though.

I am the exact same way when it comes to having my feet out of the blankets. It's weird! As for the other things like eating cold foods, I haven't noticed anything like that. I definitely have to have my feet under a blanket though LOL.

I've never really paid attention before. I like to sleep with my feet sticking out, I always assumed I tuck them in when they start to get cold. Though, they're like small blocks of ice 99% of the time regardless of my environment's temperature.
