I do. Work has been cancelled on Monday, and may be on Tuesday, as well. Have my candles, flashlights, water, and dried goods ready!

No, if it comes up the East Coast. Then I'm sure we will get the remaining bits of it.

Yes, I live exactly where it's supposed to hit, though I'm not too worried as I went through Katrina and other hurricanes, and we're taking the precautions of boarding up the windows, etc.

If that storm makes it all the way up here to MA I'll be stunned, but my boyfriend does live down in Florida so I'm kind of worried about him.
He said he made the necessary preparations already so that eased my worries a little.
It doesn't help much that the power in his area seems to go out with any major storms. =|

I am in Baton Rouge and it is windy and rainy and alot of power lines are down but I still have electricity. So it doesn't seem too bad to me.

I'm thinking of you and your family through this difficult situation, but it sounds like you weathered the storm. Awesome!

Hopefully the roads open up soon, glad you guys didn't get hurt. =3
If you have little ones and school is out, it might be a good chance to do a few fun projects with them over the weekend. Sort of an added bonus there, childhood goes by so fast it seems.

I am not living in the direct path of the storm but we are going to get some nasty weather from it anyhow. To those who are in the path, May God keep you safe and secure.

I'm right outside New Orleans. There's 700,000 people without power and almost all the main roads are closed. We were able to find some back roads to get to Texas. They're saying the power may be out for a week or more since so many people's power went out. Wasn't staying without AC in 100+ heat. No way! I'm hoping we'll be able to get back home soon though.
