Do you 'lock' your cell phone?

Contributor: Hot'n'Bothered Hot'n'Bothered
Just curious, as my husband decided to get the ICE (In case of emergency) app for his Iphone.

Do you password lock your phones? (which would leave ICE pretty useless)....

Hubby doesn't lock his, but I lock mine because the kids tend to get a hold of it and I was tired of them deleting my apps/making calls...

Mine locks, but it's not password protected. I'm sure I could make it that way, but I'm way too lazy and don't have anything I really need to keep away from anybody. I do lock it just because it's a bar phone and therefore keys get pressed really easily if I drop it in my purse or put it in my pocket.

Mine can lock and can be password locked but I do not chose to enable that. If someone invades my privacy by reading my messages or looking at my photos, that is their fault for doing something without my permission.

The only time I lock it (and it's not a password lock, but a screen lock) is when I'm putting it in my bag and it can dial without intent.

Your answers are a little confusing. Mine locks but I choose not to lock it.

I have mine set so that the screen locks automatically, but I never use the password protected lock.

Mine locks, but no password, just a slider.

No password on mine either. Just a slider since it's a touch-screen phone.

I press 'lock' but I don't use a password.

I keep mine locked and password protected - sometimes I forget to delete pictures off of it that I wouldn't want anyone to see if I lost it. On my current phone, even when it's locked you can still call ICE.

Mine locks but I dont have it passworded. I only put that on if I'm giving it to a kid or someone I dont want reading my dirty texts (like my grandparents!).

Mine locks and its password protected. Although Im thinking about taking it off. I have it more for if something were to happen to it, no one can do anything to my phone. I did acutally download an app that is "toddler safe" in which they can play with it, and draw on it but they cant actually get INTO the phone and delete things or accidentally call people. And there is a specific way to get out the app. So its really nice when my friend's little girl asks to play with my phone. :-D

I lock my cellphone because I do not want to be butt dialing someone while in class.

Mine locks automatically, but it's a touch screen so I don't think I have a choice not to lock it. No password though, although I'm sure there's an option for that.

Mine locks automatically. I can use a password if I choose, but I have no reason to.

Me too. After like seven seconds or so it locks.

Mine has a key lock which prevents butt dialing. This is fairly useful but doesn't require any sort of password. My phone does have a security feature lock that I use. I have it on the setting to lock the phone every time it gets restarted. However, I do not have an iPhone, just a samsung intensity.

it would be more of a pia than the very slim chance someone might stuff with my phone, but I'm thinking password type lock, Ive still got an old flip phone which auto locks when I close it so I don't need to worry about accidental calls and that.

Mine is password protected. I was paranoid about losing it when I first got it. I think I'm going to take it off, it's just proving to be kind of a pain. It can lock without being password protected, so I think I'll just do that.

I disable the screen locking on mine. It was just a side button that ya push but I can't be bothered with that or the password business. I found both a real nuisance.

I have a touch screen but have never experienced any accidental phone calls or anything.

It automatically looks the screen when the backlight goes off. I don't have it password protected though. The only time I did that was when I had an ex who would randomly read my texts, even during sex once. There was nothing there that I really cared about but I just like privacy. Typing the password or sliding my finger around in a certain pattern got to be a pain.

I don't have a smart phone but I can lock it. I should so I didn't pocket dial people so much but I don't bother with it.

My phone automatically locks on its own after a few minutes but there is no password needed to unlock it. I have it to lock automatically because I have numbers set on my speed dial and my son likes to press buttons and usually calls everyone.

The phone locks, but just so you don't dial on accident. Other than that no security or passwords on the phone.
