Do you prefer Air conditioning or fans?

Contributor: Viktor Vysheslav Malkin Viktor Vysheslav Malkin
I just removed my air conditioning, and I am glad to see it gone. So I am sitting in my room relaxing and a cool autumn breeze comes through my window...I think I went to heaven...

I love fresh air, how about you?

Do you like Air conditioning or fans?

I loved the air conditioning this summer, I loved it soooo much, but I am glad it is autumn.

I like fresh air with the window open. And for the one week a year it gets boiling hot here, I like to enjoy it. No cooling off needed

I voted both air conditioning and fans. If it's hot hot hot in the summer, air conditioning is a must, but in the fall I love to open the windows and get a cool breeze of fresh air with fans on going through the house.

I like both, but I can not stand having any kind of breeze blowing on me while I sleep.

Same here. I've about had it with the AC now. I'm ready for fall breezes!

In the middle of the summer it's the AC. Humidity sucks. For all other times a open window and a fan works fine.

If it's humid, AC. Just hot, a fan will do.

I cant sleep when its hot and sticky so A/C is a must for me in the summer. Now that fall is here I can leave the windows open.

I voted for AC but also other. I hate window air conditionings because I hate blocking the windows but I do like the coolness they provide. We have central air where we live now, it's kind of a necessity down south...it's just TOO hot without it. Our central air usually runs from like May until October, and I have to say that I LOVE when it finally gets to the point I can switch it off because not only does it help my electric bill but it also allows me to open the windows and enjoy the autumn air

I don't have AC in my apartment and I'm ok with it.... I have air circulating fans and although late July/early August can get kind of brutal, it doesn't bother me too much.

A/C.

It's a fine line for me, I don't like air blowing on me....I get cold fast!!...It's weird.

I live in Florida - both are necessary the ENTIRE year: year-round humidity above 65% and it rarely gets below 70 degrees in the dead middle of winter.

I loved my summer when I had no A/C, but it was hard to adapt at first. I went to San Salvador Bahamas this summer where A/C did not exist so I quickly adapted to the heat. Now I'm living in an apartment where my roommates like having the air on cold so I am yet again sweating in the warm weather and can't stand it.
I find it interesting how quickly we can adapt to a certain temperature.

I like both. I am in the middle of peri-menopause and the hot flashes and night sweats SUCK! Although, a little estrogen ointment goes a long way (I take a quarter of a dose) to helping with these and other symptoms (like climax issues) I still am "running warm" in the last few years. I NEED to be cool, or I start to feel ill, and even have been prostrated by heat in the recent past. I just can't take it. I LOVE summer, but don't like the heat we've had this summer. It's been a very hot summer in the Chicago area.

My Man is like you, Viktor. He likes "fresh air" which I also love, but not when it's at 98 degrees, or even anything over 74 degrees or so. We have constant fights about the air conditioning, I turn it on, he turns it down, I turn it up, he turns it off.....not great stuff.

However, in the last few days we've had a cold snap, so now, I'm COLD! I am very difficult to please and have a 5 degree "comfort zone." It's too early to turn on our heat, so I'm sitting here fighting with a very loud space heater at the moment.

I heard LA was 113 degrees yesterday. blechy.

Air conditioning is where it's at! Even if I'm not hot enough to warrant the use of an AC unit, I prefer it to suck the humidity out of the air. Today, for example, it's only 70ish degrees out, but it's horribly humid, so I have the AC running *and* I'm wearing a hoodie, lol.

AC. And yes, LA was about 112, 113. My dad had called off work, and even just stepping out the door was hell.

I can't imagine. You must have had to stay inside.

Chicago has horribly humid summers, falls, springs and even winters. But, I can only remember it being above 100 a few times in my life. It kind of levels out at about 98 degrees here, most of the time. (Cooler near the lake, as the Weatherman says. But, we are NOWHERE near the lake.)

I am a AC person to the core! I will pay extra to make sure I am comfortable in my own home!

Definitely prefer AC. Out here in the Midwest I've been through some wickedly hot and humid summers (100 F and above), and fans offer little comfort.

I prefer fresh air but am happy to use a fans to spread it around. When it's hot, like it is today (95 degrees), it's a/c all the way!

I like both, but it also depends on the temperature. Rather than have the AC cranked really cold I prefer to let it be a little on the warm side (not as hot as outside) then have a fan going for the air flow. I'm hating how chilly my room is right now because I really like the feel of the ceiling fan on low, but it's just too darn cold for me to be able to do that and still get out of bed in the morning, lol

I like air conditioning in restaurants and hotels, but since we don't have it at home, I do enjoy using fans and open windows.

Air conditioning all they way I love it. Cant stand the heat or humidity. Fans are good if its not too hot.

I chose other because it really depends on where I am. When I was in New Hampshire I never used A/C. I loved having the windows open and the fans on. In South Carolina I used both. Spring and Fall I would just open the windows. Here in Texas....the only time I open the windows is if I absolutely have to. The smell in the air here is horrible. It smells like wet dog all the time! I have to spray my clothes with fabreeze after bringing them in off the line (I don't have a dryer hookup )

Both. When I'm at home and not in my dorm, I sleep with the fan on medium while the air is going, and when the heat's on, my fan is definately on (my room's the warmest in the winter and the coolest in the spring).
