My partner has been feeding me churros and I can't stop! I love them. My partner has been bringing me churros for two days now and tonight I told him NO more! I cannot think about them because I'll have to eat them! Lol. He ended up getting me two and I finally gave in and just finished the last one.
So do you guys love churros as much as me!? Is there a person out there who actuaally dislikes (gasp!) churros?
I remember years ago when I first ate a Chinese donut -- it was true, passionate, kinky love! Lol. Okay, not kinky, but I fell in love instantly and to this day, we MUST have one or two or four of them when we go out to eat at a Chinese or Asian restaurant. Churros, which I was only recently introduced to, remind me a lot of those Chinese Donuts, except they have cinnamon and usually, a Chinese donut does not.
In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's what a churro is:
And this is the equally delicious Chinese donut:
Have you guys had both? Do you LOVE them both?
They're basically just the most amazing fried bread covered in sugar. A churro is like a Mexican donut and very similar to the Chinese donuts only they're shaped all twisty and have cinnamon.
NO but I want to. I was SO excited when I went to Mexico for vacation and wouldn't ya know, not a single one could be found in the resort area we stayed at . I was so upset. We have two family owned authentic Mexican restaurants here and neither place has them. Only fried icecream.
I like both. Churros are much more popular here in Oregon, whenever we're at Costco, my husband will buy a piece and share it with me. I like fluffy Chinese Donuts also, but they're not as popular here.
This needed an other option. xD
I have heard of churros and had some churro flavored Bugles that were absolutely delicious, so I think if I actually tried churros or Chinese donuts (never heard of those though) I'd probably love them.
There's a Mexican place where we go that have Churros. But they're not on the menu, you have to kind of be "in the know" to order them. They come out and have caramel inside as well and chocolate and caramel dipping sauces. They are so good, but I think we love them because it's a special treat since they don't have them all the time.

Chinese Doughnuts and Churros are indeed both yummy, but very different. Different texture and flavor. Churros are amazing when FRESH and really cripy outside and chewy sweet inside. The only REALLY super one's seem to come from places in California, when I am out there visiting.
They sell frozen ones you can bake in the oven, but they seem to me to be a waste of calories.

I've had both, and I LOVE them both, but the chinese donuts are easier to make!
