I agree with Dusk, it's nice when people upload their own avatar so you can identify them by it.

I haven't look at the ones provided as I uploaded my own. I think it is always more fun to be able to upload something such as that that is your own.

I totally agree with duskinchains. I know they have some great ones here, but I am unique and special....plus my avatar is the same one I use for twitter and my website (and a few other forums) so it helps people recognize me.

I have a provided at the moment....I am trying to decide on one to use that is really more me though. Once found I will change it.

I uploaded my own after I spent a few weeks getting confused when I would see my avatar posting stuff I didn't remember posting, then realize it wasn't me who said it. Having my own avatar makes it easier to recognize me and easier for me to spot my own posts.

Yes! I never used one of the pre-loaded avatars but I do get confused seeing the same avatars over and over and they're all different people.

I do the same thing! I'll have to look at the names to figure out why it looks like the same person posting different things 3 times in a row, lol

Unfortunately I tend to over look the generic avatars unless someone is really standing out and participating in the community, simply for the fact that a lot of the people I see with generic avatars are just kind of ... out there lol. There are quite a few who do participate but I tend to look for avatars that I know or that are different when I'm reading through a thread.

When I see someone post short, ridiculous things all over I overlook them anyways, stock AV or not, but I find the stock holders (heh) seem to have a higher chance of doing it.

I agree. The sudden popularity of rubber duckies is confusing the hell out of me, it feels like it's never the same poster twice with that avatar.
