Hair removal

There are a lot of polls and discussions about shaving or waxing, I am interested to know how prevalent less common methods are in comparison. This could apply to any large area of the body for men or women.

So what do you do?

Disposable razors are cheap and easy. I used to wish I had enough money for lazer hair removal (at least for the armpits & bikini line) but that is just so much money and at this point I don't care nearly enough about body hair to spend my hard-earned cash on that. Prolly gonna be disposable razors for life

I am currently on my last few laser hair removal treatments for my underarms (total treatment $450). So far so good on that. Next up, will be a modified bikini line (on special now for $950). These are AK prices. Everything in AK costs more than the lower 48.

I agree txymxy, they are cheap and great to use. I also wax at a salon. It last longer than disposable razors and after a while you get used to the pain.

I get waxed in a salon! It is very much worth it. I love being clean and it helps lessen the ingrown hairs that can happen Waxing is the only way to go!

I use lots of those depending on an area of application ) Razor for armpits, epilator for legs and depilitory cream for private parts. I used to wax at home, but don't really like it.

I shave. I've tried waxing and it hurt too much. I wax my eyebrows, but nothing else. I just shave those other areas.

Laser Hair Removal didn't work and was agonizing. Waxing hurts and makes me bleed. Shaving leaves a hideous rash. I just use a trimmer and only shave wet if I absolutely have to (e.g. for a photoshoot).

I will only attempt laser hair removal or waxing again under anesthesia!

My hair follicles extend about half an inch under my skin. I don't know how deep other people's pubes are, but for me, it's just painful.

I think hair follicles are normally that deep? Mine are. It hurts to remove the hair in any way other than shaving.

Well, I find that depilatories like Nair don't necessarily hurt, they just leave a terrible rash a la herpes.

I shave.. It's easiest for me, and I've tried hair removal creams before but I hate the smell and they never really work too well for me. I have tried home wax, but unsuccessfully

Shaving causes many problems to me. I have a sensitive skin and that make me spend a lot of time to remove hair. I even consume large amount of shaving cream to make the blades so smooth on the skin..

Lazer is expensive and isn't 100% effective, depending on the location and a lot of factors such as skin type, hair color, etc.

I shave with disposable razors, but I often get bumps due to sensitive skin unless I use a lot of shaving creme or gel. I tried waxing, but I just couldn't do it again.

Yeah, apparently my hair down there has mostly red pigment (which cannot be picked up by a laser, even though it appears brown.

I shave with disposable razors but if I could afford to get waxed in a salon I'd be all over it.

Epilator - I can't stand to shave and have sharp stubble growing back! I'd love laser but don't want to pay that cause I'm not sure it would be that effective on me. Wax irritates my skin and kills too much.

I usually wax, but sometimes I'll shave if I get annoyed by the waiting period between waxes.

my pubes are deep too. When I was younger I tried to pull one out with tweezers. I learned that they are really long. At most mine are 1/4 inch under the skin.

I've been using an epilator for about 3 years now and I actually get upset when I have to shave without it (stuck somewhere or left without time and too much hair to ignore!) I use it on my entire body except *directly* around my sideways lips...I shave that because I think my epilator would grab ahold and chew!

I also use an epilator. For around my labia area, I either cover it with fingers from my other hand, or hold on to my lips and move it away while I epilate wherever necessary.

i would like to do lazer hair removal. 1 place was having a special once where if you get your bikini done, you could get your under arms done free. although, i think i would like to get my entire area done instead of just the bikini line.
